Forums - Gaming - Console Brand FINAL SHOWDOWN!!! PS1 vs SNES.....

I have to admit that i may have played more time with the ps1, without counting snes emulators. But, the snes was the console that introduced me to videogames. Never owned one, but was the reason i got a N64.

Then, my vote goes to SNES :)

SNES.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

SNES, I had a lot more fun with it overall. I'm into platformers, and when it comes to platformers there's no contest. SNES also had Super Metroid, the best game ever. Plus I still have my SNES, I played it yesterday for like 4 hours.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

My vote is for the PS1 because of it's great library of JRPG. Suikoden I and II, FF VII-IX, FF Tactics, Breath of Fire 3, Legend of Legaia, Chrono Cross, Alundra, Legend of the Dragoon, Xenogears, Grandia, Wild arms 1 & 2 and lot's lot's more.
It also has RE series, Silent hill, MGS, Tomb Raider, Twisted Metal, Crash Bandicoot series and many more.

SNES is also a great system many great games too FF IV and VI, Chrono Trigger, Lufia, DK, Mario of course and many more.

Plotwise though, they just cannot be compared to the PS1 JRPGs.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

...seriously? Because they were 2D, they can not tell a good story? Have you even played Chrono Trigger or FF VI?

Just stop

Honestly I don't really care who really wins since both Consoles provided me with hours upon hours of bliss, with only a few moments of total dread. I'm looking at you Blade for PS1 and Spiderman and X-Men for SNES

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
