Forums - Gaming - COD MW 2 Ratchet CIT?

I'm getting both.

If you want a great online experience, get MW2. If you're not much of an online gamer, get Ratchet.

But either way, pick up the one you didn't get as soon as you can.

well, my reason for sony exclusives is that they seem to be coming into their own. crisper detail and more impressive creativity. imho. anyway, i dont care for the idea that many multiplatform games seem to put the ps3 on the back burner. yes, I have a 360, but i am not on live. i decided not to bother since psn is free.

I understand that neither of these games have anything in common but, I can't decide which one to buy. I love both COD MW and Tools of Destruction. I am anticipating both sequals. So, which one will be a better buy? I think COD MW 2 may be the one to choose because of the multiplayer, but the storyline might not be all that. I do love the creativity of Ratchet and prefer Sony exclusives. Anyone having a dilema like this one?

i don't understand that.

you should get MF2 if you prefer online over single-player, if not then definitely Ratchet.

I think he means if MW2 was a Sony exclusive, it would look more appealing to him and put it on even standing with Ratchet and Clank.

Exclusives on all platform tend to have more polish and effort put into them, because you only have to make one version.

I've yet to see this. I do however see a lot of exclusives get a special entitlement because too many people can't control their competitive urge with other console owners. I own a lot of consoles and handhelds. No publisher is more special than the other, and no exclusive has had any more effort put into it than any equivalent multiplat.

HEAVILY disagree. Multiplat games are the ones that get most patches because they weren't polished enough. Exclusives on all consoles are far more polished than most multiplats.

I'll give an example of two PS3 third person shooters, released in the same year.

Uncharted 2: Runs like a dream, looks fantastic, no install

Resident Evil 5: Low framerate, glitches, decent graphics, 5GB install.

That's sloppy port work for the PS3 version. You then have a game like Infamous that doesn't look nearly as good or is as nearly as big as Grand Theft Auto 4, and Infamous is an exclusive that still has a mandatory install. It works both ways. Good developers make good games that run well. Uncharted 2 also looks A lot better than MGS4, and that game has like six installs. I mean do you really think if the roles were reversed and Resident Evil 5 was the exclusive and Uncharted 2 was the multiplat that it would magically make Resident Evil 5 the more polished game?

But infamous has a gig of an install, and runs at a higher FR than GTA IV, and GTA IV has a 3GB install and runs like shit.

I still don't understand how a game like LOST PLANET has a 5GB install, and runs at 30fps, when U2 has no install and runs with graphics that just obliterate most console games out there, SAME FOR KILLZONE 2.

Maybe if Capcom were able to focus on one platform, they could develop and write code specifically for that platform, rather than being lazy and just chucking in a 5GB install. And this is the third party whose games often sell better on PS3. I'd hate to think what would happen if the 360 version sold much better. A 10GB install?

Of course, Capcom are worse offenders than most third parties. MGS4 was just ridiculous, of course. I suppose part of it is being a first party studio and having access to anyone in Sony.
