I don't know why Birmingham is a joke... but it just is, I just associate it with boredom having never been there!

Let's put it this way, the two greatest things that have come out of Birmingham is the Lord of the rings books and Ozzy Osbourne. Hardly two amazing things there.

Some people argue that William Shakespeare was from my city, but he is from Stratford, a town outside the city, so it doesn't count at all.

And the city used to be really ugly about twenty years ago and we can't shake that off no matter how much it's changed.

Nope. It England's L.A. It could never be classed as a beautiful city in my eyes. Obviously my opinion. Although, ive never been so i wouldn't really know just go off what others have said. I think its because of the industry during the 1900's.

i like stratford, it was nice. i dont remember much of actual birmingham though.. i was excited about stratford cos i like shakespeare so i remember that wee town so much better :D

but i dont think theres anything wrong with birmingham, its just quite big is it not? and big places are always gonna be seen as having an element of badness to them.
