The city is a bit of a laughing stock to the rest of the UK. But I don't think we deserve such a bad rap.

May I ask why?

Let's put it this way, the two greatest things that have come out of Birmingham is the Lord of the rings books and Ozzy Osbourne. Hardly two amazing things there.

Some people argue that William Shakespeare was from my city, but he is from Stratford, a town outside the city, so it doesn't count at all.

And the city used to be really ugly about twenty years ago and we can't shake that off no matter how much it's changed.
