What's wrong with claiming to be a being a giant among midgets?
The term may be meaningless, but at least it's not outright misleading.

Also, considering the site doesn't track PC sales, and that is the main purpose of this site, I really have never understood why there's a PC forum anyway. No offense to PC gamers. |
This is an example of a post I will ignore and not care about, since I already explained this was not up for debate and don't see this adding anything to the discussion.
Back on topic.
I did clarify in the OP what happens if games have the same name but are completely different.
Great measure, I always found that some comments calling certain games complete exclusives annoying given that I can play them perfectly in PC. This rule ensures there's no discrimination against gaming platforms, and I'm glad it's being enforced

I know I said I wouldn't respond to anything, but I lied. Cause I can. I'm awesome like that.
Anyway, the term console exclusive is still accurate and appropriate. The goal of this is to allow more intelligent and on-topic discussions about all games, without the debates over the misuse of the term. This way people can discuss the big games on their platforms with signifficantly less arguments, and all gamers platforms of preference will be respected. 360 gamers have no more rights than PC gamers or anyone else. Everyone should be treated fairly, and have their views and preferences respected. I hope you can understand this. |
I do understand it perfectly, and I accept it. I'm just saying... I just wanna lift up the fact that we Xbox fans are in a tuff position on this site.
For example, I'm afraid it will be very hard for us to win any list wars in the future.

Listing "console exclusives" is, though? How can that be the case? |
Did you read the OP? Calling a PC/360 game a console exclusive is fine. Calling the game simply exclusive is not.

Hahaha of course you realize you contradicted yourself there right? Not to say I'm surprised, running away from logic is the usual way people argue on this forum anyway. It's pretty pathetic when we have to have a rule about what constitutes an exclusive because of a few butthurt people.
Sweet so it's console exclusive. So PC won't be getting it like PS3 doesn't get xbox exclusives or?
My take. This isn't unfair to the Xbox, but it's obviously aimed at 360 fanboys and their loose generalizations.
However, again, this is all spurned from an original argument from this generation, that a console is better based upon its exclusives.
The truth is, a console's quality isn't based upon its exclusives, but it's library.
The 360 doesn't have a ton of great pure exclusives, however, it does have nearly every multiplat the PC has, as well as nearly every multiplat the PS3 has, while the PC and the PS3 don't share nearly as many of the same multiplats. While it may be possible to enjoy the most exclusive games on the PS3, that certainly doesn't mean or imply that it is possible to enjoy the best library on the console.
Therefore, if your logic isn't simplistic, and if you actually think about it, buzzwords like "exclusive" mean nothing, compared to meaningful buzzwords like "library."
Also, FYI, Half-Life is no longer a PC exclusive on VGChartz, because it was released on PS2.
Woot! Best FPS of all time is no longer a PC game, and indeed, the best exclusive FPS of all time is now on the N64, cause it ain't Half-Life, that's a multiplat.
I'm very happy with this decision. PC fans are in fo some sho-nuff pwnage. I've just STARTED to play with the implications of this move.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
Oh, also, what about virtual console and such? Does the original PS1 lose exclusive claims to SotN, MGS, FFVII, ect, because they are on arcade?
Also, does the N64 lose exclusivity of OOT and Mario 64 due to the Wii and DS?
How retroactive is this rule?
