Its up by 30K compared to 2008 SALES in the same time period!

And 2010 will be even better ;)

This holiday season is going to add some serious distance, too.

It´s about time. Things are getting better for Sony, the slim and the price cut made a small miracle on Ps3 sales, along with some excellent games. Let´s see what will happen in the next weeks.

2010 should be a better year given the whole year will be at the lower price. But it could also be the same story as 2009 for the 360. Up YoY for most of the year, only to fall behind weekly in the last few months and and the year slightly down.

All depends on whether 2010 brings further pricing changes for any of the consoles.

It was fairly common knowledge that the biggest barrier holding people back from purchasing a PS3 was the hefty price tag, followed by the relatively weak lineup (this has been solved since late 2007). Now that both barriers have been completely dissolved, excluding people who are too cheap to spend $300 on a system that will last them 5+ years, PS3's full potential can begin to shine. This Christmas ought to show us what it's really capable of sales-wise.

PS3 also had the most exclusives overall this gen which helped.

At anyrate grats!
