YOU'RE HELPING THE MAFIA and destroying would could be an extra piece of protection for atleast a single night...
Not to mention there could be other roles out there to keep me alive.... |
generally anyone who claims vanilla, doctor, lies, or is a lurker should be lynched as they help the mafia.
- claim vanilla - the mafia has a better chance of murdering a power role
- claim doctor - the mafia knows who they need to kill, the hard part is guessing when he won't be protected by someone like a body snatcher
- lie - you confuse the town which is good for mafia who live on confusion
- lurking - you don't help the town find the bad guys and generally make the game boring.
the reason these people should be lynched even if they are pro-town is to discourage other people from making such mistakes. By adding the threat of lynching people who play poorly for the town people will hopefully not make these mistakes in the future.
I still vote hatmoza though since he wants to be my arch-nemisis and I'm positive we won't end in a lynching today.

But in the end you're giving the mafia a free kill. While it may discourage idiots in other games, it only hurts the townies in this game.
Killing the Doctor ourselves only frees up the Mafia to kill somebody besides the Doctor tonight. That's not good for us.
As for my general thoughts on DGC, he reminds me of Hatmoza last round, who made a stupid roleclaim on day two casting heavy suspicion on himself (causing everyone but me to vote for a lynch [Edit: Nevermind. Falcon, Megaman, and Gnizmo were the innocents we lynched last round]). It turned out he was telling the truth the whole time, much like I surmised. While the roleclaim may have been stupid, it wouldn't have made sense for him to lie under the circumstances he was in, at least not in the manner that he did, so I believed him.
In DGC's case, I'm not so sure. On one hand the roleclaim seems innocent and naive, much like Hatmoza's, and it seems like it won't do him much good (making us highly suspicious of him, leading to a possible lynch, and making him the mafia's number one target if he's telling the truth).
Of course, there's also the possibility that he figured he wouldn't look suspicious at all, and hoped this would lead to us thinking he's innocent despite a possible guilty investigation. He may just want the townies on his side. While that seems possible, I think it's highly unlikely, especially given the haphazard manner in which the details of his role spilled out.
Khuutra would be more likely to be guilty of this, given that he implied that he has some sort of investigative role in a rather quiet manner, probably in an attempt to land Doctor's Protection tonight, but also possibly in an attempt to make us think he's pro-town when he's really not.
