We see it in movies & in books.

But is there anything like love really?

Is our parents love merely them doing their "responsibility"?

Do we just love our dogs because they look cute?

Is loving the opposite sex/same sec really "love" or just lust?

Do you believe in the word love? Or do you think its a fantasy & not true?

A lot of media these days seem to make it cheesy (in my opinion at least), but I do think that there really can be a genuine and very strong feeling of love and affection.

One of my favourite lyrics of all time =P I believe that love is a real bond between two humans - but that it isn't anything spiritual or anything.

Love can be a different state between everyone, subject to different definitions. For example I would say that I love my girlfriend, but others will say that I don't because it doesn't conform to their definition of love.

Well love has a reason. That reason could be what you said (lust, beauty, etc).

But there's no such thing as a reasonless love.

So if you're trying to say pure love has no reason... well then sure, be my guest. But I don't think it's strange for us to love something for an reason. It's the reason that should be evaluated.

Well dunno about love, but gawd let me tell ya it takes lots of energy... for various reasons.

I'm in love... and I don't ever want kids so.. if it's a trick to procreate it's a pretty crappy trick.

Ok that's the second post I've read in a matter of seconds from you saying that you don't want kids... Have you become allergic to them or something? lol

Anyway, I don't want kids with my girlfriend now, quite frankly kids annoy the living hell out of me. But I'm also not in the position to want to have kids, nowhere near. I've only been with my Girlfriend for two years and I'm doing a joint masters to PhD which means I'm not really going to be ready, financially and paternally, for four more years at least (well, hopefully, I just have to pass my masters lol). And she's a Doctor, which makes me think that I would end up as a house husband anyway if we were to have kids, which I would never want to do, so it would be impractical for us to have kids.

But I also know that when I'm 30 or something I will think that it will be time for me to settle down and have kids, even though right now I don't see myself ever wanting to have kids.
