A lot of fans of the original weren't terribly pleased by the revisions made to the sequel. Resistance 3 could feasibly go either way.

While the multiplayer modes pushed the boundaries into new territory for the franchise, personally, I felt too many changes were made to the core single player experience in an attempt to make it more like Modern Warfare (no health pick ups, no weapon wheel, etc.).

Plus the loss of the retrospective narrative by Parker changed the way the plot was revealed in the sequel; less effectively IMO.

No Nathan Hale in R3 will make it harder to solidify a connection between sequels, but I'm sure their writers have it all worked out.

According to the lead graphic programmer at ND, "a lot" of the systems currently running on the SPEs are written in C++ and they can get "much higher" performance by rewriting in assembly. They're also currently working on improving performance on the RSX.

I think R3 will be an improvement over R2. At least Insomniac realizes the error in their ways. That itself is a start. I believe Insomniac will have R3 take from the original RFOM to please fans.

They got the SPU's running at 100% most of the time. They also admitted that they're still improvements to be made since there's always away to make things run more efficiently.

I'm so tired of these "maxed out", "still feels fresh", "much more potential" ad campaigns. None of the next gen consoles (and yes i'm including the Wii) has ever reached it's "full, maxed, ultimate, blah blah blah" yet.  There's no news here.

God this all a bit confusing.

90 percent of this, 100 percent maxed out, no not really, the best is yet to come, has already been and is here right now.

I hope the PS4 is a little less confusing and a little bit cheaper.

That means ND lied! Oh noes!

But really there just saying this so R3 can get good sales, cause if they said "PS3 is maxed out nothing will look better than Uncharted 2" then the game will get low sales.
