Forums - Gaming - The alliance of random members who believe the N64 is better than the PS1!!

well i far prefer the N64 if i'm not by myself, and n64 games have generally held up better over time then ps1 games. PS1 was full of so many great single player experiences (n64 has its share too) and so for single player i prefer ps1 but i prefer n64 for 2-4 players. Smash Bros is just as fun now as it was back then. I don't want to start list wars but I could come up with similar lists for n64 that there are for ps1 above

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

I owned a PS1 and my buddy owned an N64. Every month we switched consoles and bought games each other would like, for either console and I kept all the PS1 games and he kept the N64 games. Since I did not actually own a N64 and I liked them both, the edge goes to PS1 for. Me not being in the alliance is a big blow for everyone involved that's why I gave my reasoning. I hope you can function without me.

Don't bring the sales in here, else the DS/Wii will come back to slap you in the face!

Looking back on it, the N64 is probably my favorite console ever. It had some of the greatest Nintendo/Rare hits ever, and its local multiplayer is completely unmatched. Even today, with the Wii out, it's still the console to beat. There's a reason all consoles nowadays support 4 players/controllers...

4 controller ports out of the box... rumble pak... Star Fox 64, the best Bomberman game ever made.... Count me in.

PS1 has Metal Gear Solid. Suck on that N64

N64 had LoZ, Perfect dark, Goldeneye, Duke Nukem, DK64, Mario 64, and the original GTA Body Harvest.

I must say, the N64 was an incredible machine. So many fond memories of 4 crazed fools pummeling one another on Block Fort in Mario Kart 64, or running away from rogue tornadoes on top of Hyrule Castle in Super Smash Bros., or some idiot cheating and picking Odd Job even though that person knew they couldn't be Odd Job!

...

Ahem... anywho... yes, the N64 was an incredible machine.

I think we should all respect a console that had the most powerful hardware of the generation and used a gaming medium that was different from the other two competitors.

Ah I have great memories of the N64!  Twas the first videogame console I ever played! I remember playing tons of Goldeneye and Mario Kart N64 (one of the best games I ever played)

Considering the only game I played  on the PS1 was Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, I would say the N64 offered me more fun (from what little I played of both)

N64 had better individual games.
PS1 had a library that put N64 to shame, then embarrassed it publicly, then convinced it to send all of its cartridges to Nigeria as a "good faith measure".

I look back on my N64 days with fond memories.
