Golden Eye 2010 will be a rail shooter. You can take that to the bank.

It wont be a remake. Nintendo Microsoft and Activision have a stake in this game. If it is somehow remade then it will be for the xbox 360 and the wii.

Anyone, how would Godeneye with shiny graphics hold up against today's shooters?

(Sadly there was no N64 in my country, but I JUST spotted one in the classifieds so I'll finally be able to put my 10odd year fantasy to rest. Mario64 here I come!)

well the bond game for the wii featured a map from goldeneye so it could be a whole new game with every map in goldeneye 64 plus new ones.

Funny thing is... the team that made GoldenEye... were all rookies.  For most of them, it was their first or second game they'd ever worked on.  And they were making it an on-rails shooter.  They didn't think a full FPS would sell on a console.  Then... they went "aw, fuck it" and made the greatest FPS in the universe.

Anyway... PUT IT IN MY VEINS!!!

Goldeneye was a step up the FPS ladders for consoles, it isn't one of the greatest FPS's in the universe though by any stretch. Replay Goldeneye now and you'll see the flaws for yourself, replay Half Life though now and it's still a great experience even with the original graphics. Upgrade to the Source version though and it even looks reasonable. Deus Ex is another of the true great FPS games, alongside HL2, Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, Doom 3, Counterstrike, Team Fortress, etc, etc.
