Wii HD Coming 'Fall 2010'

We've been waiting a long time to be able to play Nintendo Wii games in HD, next year is now the chance according to analyst Michael Pachter. In the latest Bonus Round show, he said that the 'Wii HD' will be coming to retail next year.

"The Wii HD is not coming this year, it's coming next fall?" said host Geoff Keighley. Pachter then responded with "Yes next fall"

2010 also sees the welcoming's of the PlayStation 3's Motion Wand and of course Project Natal for the Xbox 360 so you do wonder if it'll make a difference having a Wii HD other than playing Mario. Though don't take this as a full on confirmation as Michael Pachter does predict a lot of things that don't come true. We'll bring you updates.

he's been saying wii HD is coming since 06, i think he just doesn't want to admit he's wrong. Yes, obviously the next gen nintendo system will be HD but it won't be early, it will be right around when the competition launches.

If Wii HD is a Wii with the same graphical power but it upscales the current Wii games to High Definition via HDMI port then it would be plausible.

A new hardware I don't think so.

While I don't expect it, I wouldn't be that surprised if Nintendo decided to be the first out of the gate next generation but there is no way they will release a system before Q4 2011 ...

Now, this doesn't mean that I would eliminate the possibility of a "Wii HD" if you're talking about a system that (effectively) renders Wii games at high definition output; but I would consider this an update on the scale of a DS Lite, PS3 Slim or PSP Go.

I was going to say this...

Actually I would tack on an increase in flash size at the same time as well. Hmm it could even go as far as having a slightly more powerful system which can render the same games at a higher resolution, perhaps?
