Forums - Nintendo - DSi: Should I get one?

My beloved DS Lite broke recently and I want to get a DSi however I was wondering if its actually a wise thing to get.

Pros:

More memory

SD slot

slightly larger screen

low resolution cameras

DSi Ware

DSi exclusive games

Cons:

Region locking :(

No GBA slot :(

Lower battery life :(((

So do you guys think I should just get my DSL fixed or get a new DSi?

Region locking is only for DSiWare. If a game will play on DS, then it will play on the DSi as well, guaranteed

Region locking is only for DSi excluesive games. Lower battery life is noticeable if you have the screen bright. Its good to have it on 2, If you already have a GBA than the DSi is a complete win

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true. 2nd UPDATE: I have no Switch 2. I am now behind

I bought a DSi and I own a DSLite. To be honest I thought it was worth buying despite owning a DSLite so I'd definatly suggest you buy a DSi. The camera comes in handy on the go to. You'll be playing a game and suddenly something catches your eye. Whoosh and your snapping pictures then back to gameplay. DSiWare is the other reason I picked up a DSi, but of course at the moment their isn't a significant library of DSiWare. To be honest I half expected to see portable VC arrive on DSi, But alas it looks like I'm gonna have to wait another generation for it!

You really use the DSi camera for taking pictures? I have pretty old cellphone (Nokia N70) and it has 4 times the resolution of DSi camera. To be honest the camera was the last reason to get DSi for me.

On topic, you can't go wrong with DSi, in the future you cane expect DSi only games, so invest for the future. Also the main dealbreaker for me was larger display, shop (which sucks atm) and new surface.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Resolution on the cam isn't what's the most important. But we've been through that discussion way too many times already.

If you're not hurting for the extra cash and don't play a ton of GBA stuff ... go with the DSi.

The larger screens are really very "luxurious" compared to the older DS Lite. It's more stylish too. Just feels more like a "premium" product I guess.

There is the amazing Flipnote Studio for DSi(a free application that allows you to make animation page per page and upload it)!And a DSi only game will come out soon in Japan it is called Monster Finder.

I got it at midnight april 5 and I am so happy I did. Really great system. Also the pictures look great.
