Last month we reported a boxart mistake for the upcoming Xbox 360-exclusive Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City (click here) and for the most part it did raise some questions.  Ever since Rockstar announced their partnership with Microsoft to bring exclusive DLC to the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV, there has always been speculation whether or not it may surface on the PS3.  For months Rockstar has denied the claims, but during that same time more and more slips have surfaced to show the possibility of it coming.

The latest new piece of info to make us believe that the PS3 will see the DLC (The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony) comes from ToysRUs.com.  If you head to their Video Games section of the website, and look about midway down the page you will see something quite odd.  Before we tell you, take a look – click here.  Notice it?

Well for those who didn’t or for those who don’t want to look, take a gander at this:

What do you see folks?  You see both a boxart for the 360 and the un-announced PS3 version of the Episodes from Liberty City.  Now could this be a mistake?  Of course, retailers have made plenty of mistakes when it comes to posting new inventory items.  If you were to click on the boxart you are redirected to the Xbox 360 detail page of the game, and there is no further details of the PS3 version.  So what should we intrepret this as?  A mistake by TRU?  A slip by TRU?

The question really is, if there is a PS3 version of the DLC coming to the platform, why would a company like ToysRUs be the first to slip that information?  I have nothing against TRU but you’d figure a retailer like GameStop or Amazon would make this mistake.

I don’t want to get peoples’ hopes up (including my own) on what is to come of this.  PS3 owners hope it is true, as we were truly shafted by Rockstar Games (who were at one time a loyal publisher to the PlayStation brand) when it come to expanding the GTA IV experience on the PS3.  We bought the game, we played it numerous times, and now we want to expand the lifespan of the game by buying and playing the DLC.  Hey, when you have customers who are willing to pay for it and you neglect them of that opportunity…what kind of business are you running?

I hope that it does come to the PS3. If that happens it would most likely mean that they will also port over The Agent=)

They would be stupid if they didn't bring agent to the Xbox 360. And Liberty City Stories won't come to ps3 until another year if possible.

Don'tr get your hopes up... There is more reason to believe GTA4 extra content will come to the Ps3 then the agent going to the 360. For one MS and TT always saying downloadable content... it isn't so downloadable anymore. The other was comparing the DLC to GTA VC... If they thought it was as big as VC I'd assume they'd think it'd have comparable sales too. Which it didn't. Another... we've known about the TT exclusive for the Ps3 for years now... people assumed it was LA Noir. Turns out it was The Agent.

GTA IV is summed up with "Boring gameplay good graphics"
GTA Lost and the damned is summed up with "omg look its a naked man's penis! "

I think Agent's gonna stay exclusive. If the game is a bluray sized openworld game I don't see how it could be done on 360.

OT: I think Toys are us is making a mistake. The only thing weird about it is that they have a PS3 box art. If it was just a slip up whats the PS3 boxart doing there? Unless somone went in and photoshopped the art onto a PS3 box? But why would they do that?

liberty city stories dlc will arrive on ps3 a few months later than 360 version.

I think what everyone's forgetting here is the $50 million Microsoft paid for it to be exclusive. Unless Rockstar wants to pay it all back, I doubt this is happening.
