I preferred R1. Even the double pump from the shotty doesn't kill in one hit in R2. Granted I only played r1 as splitscreen with friends not online so lag might have been part of the reason why nothing seemed to die in R2 MP but R2 lacked splitscreen which makes another big disappointment.

They are some ungratefully ass fans, they wouldnt reckonize a good as game if it bite them in there ass, if there fans continue to act like that then i would go multiplat.

I liked Resistance 2 a lot, good improvements over the original overall. It did feel a little unpolished in some ways and areas of the game but also had far more impressive highlights over the original. It felt a little like they set too high goals to be realized within a too short timespan. I preferred the original's story telling, but the difference also suits the game well (as in Resistance 1 told as a prequel to "current" events in Resistance 2).

Looking forward to Resistance 3!

I think the awesome and well polished Killzone 2 as being shown at the time had an effect on high expectations.

Screw them.

One game, we've complained about. When reviewers bashed Quest for Booty, the fans loved it. When Deadlocked was released, we still bought it. But we cannot stand by and let them ruin a perfectly good series by making it a Halo clone.

Why would they go multiplat because their fans let them know when they don't like something?

Rant incoming;
In retrospect, Resistance 2 left such a bad taste. It is so frustrating for me to even think about how terrible every aspect of the game was. Sure the statistical attributes are good, each part was okay when considered on a sheet of paper.. 60 players online, co-op campaign, new graphical tricks...
all for nothing.
The co-op campaign is broken beyond belief, once you die once, its over.
The menu system is terrible, it kicks you back out to the main menu
the entire games story has lost its integrity. These are supposed to be terrifying monsters you are fighting.. I was not scared a bit.

and that might be due to the terrible muttled art design. They are not invested enough in this alternate reality. There are dramatic colors and lighting in some areas, but then just incredibly drab shades of brown and grey in others.
(Killzone is beautiful if greys are the way a games art direction is kept)
Textures suck, so much of the level design is just incredibly terrible. OOHH im so impressed you have a still image of giant spaceships in the sky!!, except they dont move and we will never be able to board them.. ??? what?
Is the game supposed to be realistic graphics or cartoony realistic, because the mix of the two makes me want to throw up. I guarantee that insomnaic isnt sure either.

the multiplayer is destroyed by the pacing, balancing, and spawn points. They had all of the right attributes to make a great game (sans plot) but everything that could have gone wrong... did.

Did anyone play test this game? It felt so incredibly rushed. It felt like once the train was moving the dev team became afraid to deviate from the original plan, or to be able to identify weaknesses in the game on its development path.

There are many games that are worse, but for a game that should have been so much better.. Resistance 2 is my biggest disappointment this generation thus far. Because I truly was let down, where as Lair and Haze never interested me the same way.

They need to introduce a fucking plot that cannot be summed up in 10 words. Make it a horror FPS, re-introduce the fear into FPS's.

There is no erasing the harm that Resistance 2 has done to the franchise. It is now the most bland generic shooter in existence, and no amount of Bullshit hype or 9.5's from ign will get me excited for Resistance 3, because I won't make the same mistake twice.

Kill the franchise, or delay it till PS4 lauch, and refresh the hell out of every aspect.

The game was a trilogy from the beginning, so worst case scenario, we have to endure one more generic, bland, derivative FPS.

No because there fans dont know a good game, thats like Halo fans saying "Oh i dont like the hole shields" even tho many other games copied it. There fans are just ignorant, Its not supposed to be CoD Resistance at War, nor Halo: Resistance, its a great game on its own.
