Forums - Sony - Insomniac: FANS believe Resistance 2 'was a FAILURE' - Agree/Disagree?!

I liked Resistance 2 a lot, the online was awesome and addictive.

Can't eait to see what happens in R3! :)

I thought Resistance 2 is better than Resistance 1 when comparing the multiplayer but it felt like a totally different game and I think that is why us fans were dissappointed. The campaign mode in the first one was outstanding and more hardcore. It's just that weapons in Resistance 2 weren't as creative as the first and they need to bring back the weapon wheel and Breach, Assault and conversion mode back to the multiplayer.

So in conclusion, R2 has one of the best multiplayers I ve ever played so for Resistance 3, it should feel like R1 but also bring back some R2 elements.

Resistance 2 was far better than Resistance 1, in my opinion.

The series as a whole, though, is suffering from a lack of identity. It doesn't really do anything to make it stand out from all the other generic FPSs out there.

And they shouldn't have turned Hale into a stereotypical western badass. He was a lot cooler in the first game.

Other than this, and the health and weapons system,  the game was much better than the first.  That 8p co-op was some of the most fun I had playing games

I liked R2 more then KZ2 to be honest. The 60 player deathmatch is a blast and the controls are very solid. I think a lot of people just started ragging on it because it didn't sell as well as part one.

I think it didn't sell as well because it released in between Gears 2 and COD:WAW. Plus with KZ2 looming only a few months away I bet a lot of PS3 owners held out for that, it seemed like a FPS overload from the end of 08 through the beginning of 09 and R2 kinda got lost in the mix.

Honestly, i think they rushed it. The single player story telling was not as captivating as R1. However, i dont think it was a failure.

resistance 2's multiplayer was far better than resistance 1.

and i actually got the platinum for this game so dayum son, i don't think it was a failure.

maybe sales wise, it kinda bombed. (if you compare it to the 1st one and competitions' sales)

End of 2010 Predictions (Original Prediction Made: Jan. 1, 2010---Revised April 1, 2010---Revised Again July 1, 2010---Revised Again on Nov. 1, 2010)

PS3: 46 MIL (April Revision: 44 MIL, July Revision 43 MIL, Nov. Revision 45MIL)

360: 44 MIL (April Revision: 46 MIL, July Revision: 48 MIL, Nov. Revision 49MIL)

WII: 82 MIL (Apr. Revision: 84 MIL, Jul. Revision: 82 MIL, Nov. Revision: 82MIL)

THE MUST BUY LIST of 2010: Gran Turismo 5

THE BOUGHT LIST of 2010: White Knight Chrnociles, Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy 13, God of War 3, Modnation Racers, Sports Champions

If the purpose of a sequel is to maintain the feel of the original game, while adding more features and functionality, then yes, Resistance 2 was a failure.

As an FPS, I wouldn't say it was a FAILURE, it just wasn't particularly good.

Thanks for posting this for me, Darth!

I really enjoyed R2, but I didn't like the campaign as much. I want to see the campaign for R3 be more like FoM, and I have a few other minor complaints, but I had a lot of fun with the game; especially the co-op!

no problem

I hope the admin/mods sort out your problem!
