or developers leaving xbox 360, which won't happen until this gen ends.

good sales for PS3 or xbox 360 are GOOD for the other too, as devs see tham as ONE platform.

What do you mean by "trouble"

"trouble" means it has lost momentum, it's in a downward sales curve and that the fans can't be as proud of their console being popular and winning. In fact, soon when PS3 is close to X360 in sales many Sony fans will start mocking Xbox fans on the internet, and this will make us feel inferior.

But there's no fear whatsoever that devs will leave the xbox, that's not an issue. (and IMO never was for the PS3 either, PS3 "being a Dreamcast" or GC was always just crazy talk IMO)

I wouldn't worry about it. Next year MS will release Natal and Sony won't really have anything but a few software titles. It will be similar to PS3 Slim vs. a few software titles that X360 has this year. The situation will be reversed.

Because if you discard Japan ( where western games usually don't do so well) the PS3 user base is about 30% smaller than the Xbox360.

 

31.5 millions of 360 sold out of Japan vs 22 millions PS3.



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

And on the PS3 is no Piracy at all. I never heard of a copied game its one of the few Pirate free platforms until today. Even the N64 games could have been piratet. But PS3 not I wonder why. Bluray cant be it because you can burn Blurays too.
