I vaguely remember reading some IGN staffer having played it in some expo (GTS I think) saying it was quite meh - hopefully either he was way off or things have changed since then.

I have 4 words for everyone, this is a "MOVIE TIE-IN GAME".

 

I still remember some people going nuts about how great Narnia looks on PS360. what joke that was.

 

please don't expect anything more than 'average' here, even that, it would be quite an achievement.

no joke, I'll cry if I have to have take out my whole set of Wiiwheel, WiiSpeak, Wiimotion+, Nunchuck, Wiizapper, Balance Board, and heck even purchase a Guitar Hero set for the mini games.

Then I will be certain Nintendo has betrayed me. (It's always Nintendo's fault even when it is their fault.)

I don't think the game is hyped much, it's the movie, because it's a James Cameron movie (Aliens, Terminator 2 - nuff said)

The effort and the production values really seem to be there. Looks better than I was expecting. Two minor things bother me though: the jump-in co-op looks great but the camera may not be too great for the second player, and too much cinematics for my taste.

I see there's a new Avatar hands-on in IGN now, http://wii.ign.com/articles/103/1037393p1.html , this one seems to more positive (though that doesn't say much - the first piece was a "Good and Bad in gamescom write whatever you want" piece, this one is a hands-on at Ubisoft)

theres gunna be some DLC in 2010 to support the vitality sensor.

gamers must watch the entirety of James Cameron's movie without falling asleep. now before, a games console could not tell if you fell asleep. but weith the vitaslity sensor this highly innovative game becomes possible

How many movie tie in games are good?



Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
