I'll agree that PS3 fans are not able to take bad news. If a hyped game gets even 8/10, the reviewer is biased and a Sony hater. If a game sells badly, it's undertracked. It does get annoying. We don't all do it, though.

The other fans are annoying for other things:

Microsoft fans: INSIST on downplaying every PS3 exclusive and the PS3 in general.

Nintendo fans: Similar to Sony fans, but there is a rift of sorts. Some of them are FAR worse in this regard, and quite a few of them are fine.

If you look at the really annoying trolls, I'd say most of them are 360 fans, then PS3 fans, then Wii fans.

Too busy looking at porn.
Too busy on Facebook.
Too busy smacking eachother in the balls.

If none of the above, too busy playing games.

Don't believe what I am saying - look at the banned members. The regular posters? There are a handful of 360 fans, but most tend to be PS3 fans. Seriously - look at the members - and the ones who have reasons listed. Most of it is trolling a console - be it the Wii or the 360. There are a couple 360 owners who do it, but most of the banned ones? PS3 owners. That's not my opinion, that's fact. Debate the banned members who have over 200 posts and see for yourself.

I am not talking about the ones posting p0rn either - but the alts and stuff? A handful of Wii and 360 owners.

That's just this site - and I am a PS3 owner and I don't fit that profile. If it doesn't apply to you, keep going. Get defensive and you fall smack dab into what I said earlier.

He is arguing that the PS3 fanboys can be the most immature, and they are everywhere. Although a few named for the other two do come to mind. He was not in any way arguing that going out and buying a PS3 suddenly makes you act like an immature jerk. He was implying that many who DO own a PS3, and go to forums are so attatched to their brand that they cannot seem to use reason and logic and must defend it at every turn.

The reason 360 fans downplay every PS3 exclusive and the PS3 itself, is because the PS3 fanboys are overhyping them.

I only know of two Wii fanboys who are horrible, and at least five Sony fanboys who are horrible, Likewise I have only seen two 360 fanboys who were really bad.

Trolling is something that EVERY fanboy is going to do, if they do it against your favorite console, it's going to be annoying, if they do it against another console...well, not so annoying is it? In order to be objective you would hae to say that the worst trollers are the extreme fanboys. I think that the PS3 fanboys are slightly more annoying than the other two, but the reson for this is that there are more PS3 fanboys.

I respect your opinion but I have to disagree pretty much across the board. I frequent several sites too and have left several because of the fan wars between both PS3 AND X360 fans. I don't like the Wii but I will say from my experience they are the least likely to get involved in a blog brawl although I am sure many do.

I for one love Sony products (not just PS3) and probably will until I get some crappy products (which hasn't happened for over 15 years thus far). I won't be joining a cult or anything though.

You need to look more if you don't think 360 fans make as many idiot threads as PS3 fans do. I can't count the Halo:ODST, Alan Wake, Gears, etc flame baited threads that I have seen. I disagree with the whole "bad news" angle too. I think people who like Sony get mad at places like Kotaku and CNet who are either paid by MS or hate Sony or both. Anyway, I am not trashing you just saying from my experience the X360 and PS3 fans have a pretty equal number of cruddy posters/thread starters/fans.

As to the original poster, CGI stated the answer that best fits the question, at least IMO. The PS and PS2 sold incredible amounts of hardware and PS2 was a crazy phenom, which leaves a lot of people who like Sony in the world, it doesn't mean they can't like othe systems too like you do for example.

Well my honest opinion is a good portion of Wii owners are older folks (30 years+ ) and I doubt that many people that old go on gaming sites like this. I think a lot more Playstation and Xbox owners are teenagers and that could be why they are on gaming sites.

And PS3 owners probably seem more hostile because they have been attacked now for so many years by other console owners, That they just had to deffend theselves all the time and old habits die hard.

Also all PS3 fans do most of the time is hype exclusives which probably what nakes them seem so latge in number. Go into a ps3 game hype thread and a good % of the posts will be from people who dont even own a PS3. and the rest of the posts are by the same group of PS3 owners.

The thing is sony has the most 1st 2nd parties. Arguably making the highest quality games you are ever going to see this gen. Because the is so many high quality exclusives the is always plenty of news to post. Its as simple as that really
