I think is the new FFVII. I already posted it.

no if uncharted 2 is anything like 1, it is too linear. gta is an open world do anything you want game. totally different.
which is also why i don't like when peopel compare uncharted to zelda either. zelda even though basically linear makes it not seem like that, while in uncharted you are just like in shooters just moving forward through the level and then go to the next area. you can't run around open world, go to differnet towns, side quest ect all you want.
that is why you can't compare uncharted to games like gta or even zelda. while zelda is an open world adventure, uncharted is a shooter adventure. (not meaning shoting involved, just the way you progress story wise)
in open world games you can choose to do nothing for a while relating to story, while in uncharted and shooter type games you are forced to follow story the whole time.
And due to this, it will ont reach the mass appeal that GTA did. hell most the people i know of all ages, 8-25 barely get far in story at all. i have beat the story, and they have like 10x more time playing the game than me.

Though I agree with you on that an open world game has more appeal to the masses, for such reasons as you have stated among others, but it is not necessarily a barrier that can't be overcome. And that is why they introduced the multi player into the franchise, because Halo says hello.
However I still don't think Uncharted will become a GTA and though I think it will become a great franchise I don't see it cracking more than 7 Million on a given installment, and will probably be lucky to sell 5 million.
GTA? no. But it is probably the best new ip franchise created this generation, and will probably end up being second only to Gears of War in terms of sales success.
Is that right?, feel free to prove me wrong.
I am looking forward to the Agent, even though I know nothing about it. This game could be huge for Sony in a greater way than Uncharted.
I wouldn't compare it to GTA but Tomb Raider...not just in style and play, but in actually what it does for the console.
Tomb Raider was a truly defining moment in the PS history, it came out before MGS and became a hit straight off.
Uncharted has done this. The first installment was a solid, graphically amazing game that played like a truly interactive movie. The 2nd has built on the first in every single way with enhanced visuals, bigger and better story and multiplayer.
At this moment in time, I feel that Uncharted as a franchise is the defining franchise of this generation of Playstation and could very well be the game/franchise to push people more towards the PS than other formats.
Prediction (June 12th 2017)
Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.
PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)
PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

Two very good points.
4 ≈ One
GTA? No. MGS? Not even. Tomb Raider? Yes.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Lol no. Its a fact (almost). Uncharted can never be MGS.
