They shouldn't end any of their series, I have enjoyed both R&C and Resistance.

This calls for a party!

it proberly depends on how much the game sells, if it sells alot then they will proberly make another, if it dousnt do to well then they end it.

As long as there is blood running through the veins of the human race the resistance lives on!
Vive le Resistance!

How do you define selling a lot? 1 million? 2 million? More than ToD? More than UYA? The first is pretty much certain, the second is unlikely, the third is very likely, and the fourth is highly unlikely.

The disco ball is one of the COOLEST gadgets in gaming ever! I would watch Space Pirates dance all day long. xD
| MissingNo said: I'll start with while I enjoy Ratchet and Clank games I won't be that sad to see it end. Next I want to say how I don't get why people say Ratchet & Clank is getting old/stale after just 8 years when Mario has been around for like 30 years and people can't get enough of it. Now I'm not dissing Mario at all, they're fun games, but other then the switch to 3D not a lot has changed. Can anyone explain this? Is it just nostalgia? Or is mario really that much better than R&C? |
They just don't make a Mario platformer every year. That's how it stays fresh. Sometimes there's a 5 year gap in between releases. R&C needs that time off also. Let's look at the releases:
Ratchet and Clank:
Ratchet and Clank (2002)
Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando (2003)
Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal (2004)
Ratchet: Deadlocked (2005)
Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters (2007)
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (2007)
Secret Agent Clank (2008)
Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty (2008)
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time (2009)
Mario (platformers since 2002):
Super Mario Sunshine (2002)
New Super Mario Bros. (2006)
Super Princess Peach (2006)
Yoshi's Island DS (2006)
Super Mario Galaxy (2007)
New Super Mario Bros. Wii (2009)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 (2010)
Now let's look at the two here. R&C is basically the same 3D gameplay for every game other than Secret Agent Clank, which is a bit of a spinoff platformer. Out of the Mario titles, there are two 2D spinoffs, three 3D Mario titles, and two 2D Mario titles. So not only are there less platformers in the Mario series in the same timeframe, there is also far more variety within those titles. If we got a Mario Galaxy every year like clockwork, then it would be time to give Mario a rest also.
While I love the series, it can get tired. I'd like to see them try something new, though i loved ratchet and clank!
R&C will never die...at least another company will develop R&C games like Crash Bandicoot...it will be not nearly so good like the Insomniac games
