Forums - Gaming - Borderlands IGN Review: 8.8

88 makes me reconsider this game i thought would be garbage.. but really 88 is the new 77 :/ in my mind anyway from ign. I'll probably wait a year or so when its 20-30 bucks, I've learned to be patient this gen $60 is just too much for a new game.

Too many games, not enough time. I really want this but I havent even opened up Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend. Not to mention Ratchet & Clank Future is next week!!!!!!

return Brutal Legend! There can only be one BL game Border Lands!

Borderlands is one name anyway, so it will forever be know as just B.   The music alone is worth the purchase but then to have Jack Black voicing it,  the demo was so much fun and it was really funny to.   Maybe instead of returning the game I could just take a leave of absence from work for a couple weeks.

Good review!

I agree with this statement in some sense but not completely. This gen many publications tend to rate games more highly than they should be but from my experience this generally happens with main-stream and highly hyped games. I've actually found that a lot of gems (not a typo of "games" :P) from this gen tend to be in the 82-90 range on IGN for games that aren't hyped too highly. Mirror's Edge, Brutal Legend, Dead Space, etc. are some of my favourites this gen. In fact I've had better experiences with some games rated in this range than I have with quite a few rated over 90. In my mind Borderlands isn't being hyped much and has been pretty under the radar considering it's out tomorrow so this might just be one of those great games in that range joining those listed above. Here's hoping! Plus I'm in need of a new grind-fest. After 300 + hours in Oblivion and half a dozen playthroughs of Mass Effect I'm ready for some more grinding through Demon Souls, Dragon Age and this. :D

Awesome! If my budget wasn't so low I'd buy this first day. Too bad MW2 is of a higher priority for me.

I'll do a signature later

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I'll wait for other reviews.....

IGN seems a little too friendly sometimes.
