I'm on the same boat. I'm a mayor RE fan, but RE5 was a complete letdown and a huge stepback in the evolution of the series.

When is the RE5 ranking due for Yo_John117?

Oh if people thought I didn't like LBP, wait until you see what I have to say about my oh so favorite game RE5. I might have to be caerful because some of things mentioned might and will offend people. 

With that game, all the games I was disappointed this generation will have passed. Oh wait we have not done Infinite Undiscovery.

Remember disappointment don't = horrible games, but they do mean I didn't like the game.

We were talking about KylieDog ;) He's been rating down almost every game on the Ranking game, that's why I asked about personal Vendetta issues.
I had some issues with LBP too, but as I said in a above post, people have to rank a game according to it's accomplishments and merits, leaving personal preference as a last quantitative addition, I think that's the only way to put up an objective analysis of the game, and in that aspect, there have been some pros and cons that doesn't really reflect what the games actually accomplish, that's my only gripe with the Ranking game so far.

I love the RE series, RE 2 and RE 3 are amongst my favourite games of all time and RE 4 was one of the best i've played on the PS2. But RE5 was a letdown in all aspects to me, but the game does have some merits to it, when it comes to ranking it I shall be the most objective as I can be.

As I said to Kylie, I love the RE series, especially RE2 and RE3, but mostly RE2, Leon's and Claire's stories are amongst the best in a survival horror game ;)

I agree with you, but you're talking about a proper review vs an opinion, and most people are just going to give their opinion.  For example I found game X boring really and don't see what all the fuss is about, so it's a 4 type stuff.

Really, any game whose core gameplay is solid for it's genre, has no major glitches or bugs, and which matches the general standard for its type of game is a 7.  To give anything less, unless there are issues, bugs, poor gameplay for that type of game, is just an opinion.

Given most of the games so far I've seen in the ranking are all very good for their genre and well made, Halo 3, LBP, etc. then TBH they can't really score less than 7 from a proper review perspective - there's simply no justification.  If you don't like a game it doesn't mean it does anything wrong just it's not to your tastes.

Like I say though, I doubt you'll convince those pitching low for personal reasons.  Their minds are made up and their ways are set.

I'd love to know how you argue a 3 for LBP.  The game is solid technically, has no bugs, flaws I've seen and it's pretty obvious the only real, genuine complaints are:

1 - the 3 plane handling can occasionally (like very rarely) be an issue

2 - the search facility could be better

3 - depending upon each players connection coop online can be laggy

At worst, being harsh on those you could say 7/10.  But the game's mechanics are solid as per design, as are levels, sound, etc.  The only way to score lower is personal bias as the game simply doesn't have flaws enough to merit anything less.

Why is a bunch of crap to ask about it? I was asked the same question when I ranked GTA4 a 7.0, and I just replyied giving the reasons for it. In your case I just asked given your pros and cons not being an actuall reflection of what, in the case of LBP and Dead Space, represent.

I agree with you, RE2 is my favorite and one of the best horror games i played
