The DS version has multiplayer. The Wii version is a more single-player experience.

Well like I said, no multi player, no purchase from me.

If there is none, then where is the true sequel to CC on Gamecube? SquareEnix, you make promises, and you are so not keeping them at all.

^They split it up. The single player is on the Wii (sequel to the story). The multiplayer is on the DS (With a prequel to the original).

@Ghaude, this is about the "WII Ware" version not the Crystal Chronicles Bearer version ;)

And personally I would be glad if there won't be any multi play option available, at least they'll mainly focus on the single player mode.

Onna, I know that. If it is in the same context of the other CC game (on Gamecube), then why in the world are they taking multi player away? It was the best aspect of the game (if you could get the hardware together to play it) and could easily make this game exceptional if done correctly (especially with Wifi like SquareEnix was promising this game could have pre-Wii launch).

To focus on single player is almost a sin considering how much the game focused on spell casting and attacking using teamwork, coordination, and timing. If these other two games coming out do not share these qualities, then why not cut ties and make a new series entirely.

And I am not bashing the game, for after all, it could end up with multi player and that would make me happy. But without it, and the promises SquareEnix made, I will find myself very displeased with the company and their efforts.

Besides, who in the world would not have liked CC from Gamecube to be more accessible (from an expense standpoint) or even use Wifi? If you say you say you would not like it, I will wonder about you.

And to end this rant, I want to reiterate that the company is only taking options away from the game. Thee original CC could be played with one player and up to four. So to focus on single player or story line is not valid. By eliminating mulit player, you are eliminating an option that could be a major selling point. It is in my case as I want a Wii CC that has multi player possibly Wifi. Considering SquareEnix said it was not only possible, but that they were also working on it, got my hopes up. Anything without those options is considered a major step backwards for the franchise.

SquareEnix promise was that we would see a "true" sequel to CC on Wii. Without those promises fulfilled, multi player being the big one, then I am not seeing this "true" sequel they were going on about. This game could have been them keeping their word.

I'm glad The Crystal Bearer's is going to be more of a single player experience. I think alot of Nintendo fans were disappointed that the GameCube version wasn't the epic type FF single player experience we've come to love the series for, and so TCB should hopefully make up for that disappointment.

In an interview one of the developer people pretty much said that the Wii version is more of a single player FF in the vein of the SNES / playstation games, whereas the DS FF:CC is the spiritual sequel to the GC game with the focus being on multiplayer.

I still don't think we've really seen enough of the TCB to judge yet, a while ago we got our first in-game trailer and haven't heard anything since. This game must be being developed under a pretty big scale though, I mean they announced it at E3 2006 and we haven't heard alot since.

Yeah i agree with Soriku, it seems they mixed FF and KH in Crystal Bearers somehow and the game trailer looks fantastic.

Besidse, I loved multiplayer on the first one, but god hooking up 4 gbas was so damn gimmicky. I mean it was cool how you had your own independent screens. If the single player in the next one is like the single player in the first one, that would suck. Well as long as I get a moogle to carry my chalice, I'll be ok.

It'd be cool if L5 can give us Rogue Galaxy (unless Sony owns that? All I know is they just published it. There was RG and RG: Directer's Cut.)

Either that or they can give us a Nintendo EXCLUSIVE action RPG (like how Sony owns Dark Cloud, Nintendo should own something too. Maybe even more than one game.)

I'd rather see a game like a Dark Cloud with a sort of construction option, weaponry build option, with the style (cell shaded) and atmosphere as in a Dark Chronicle / Dark Cloud 2... That would be so awesome!

There very well could be working on a Wii game. WHite Knight Story is near done, so they gotta be working on something big soon.

But I do hope that the next game is Dark Cloud 3 for PS3!
