So my prediction is likely.. $179 or $149 360 soon..

and ofcourse the reason microsoft is saying this is because they want there readers to believe they are #1, to believe they are the top dog in the gaming market. It also hurts the ps3's image with microsoft says these things.

Sony are still at a serious loss with every PS3 console sold

I can't believe people really think Nintendo cut the price, because of the PS3.Nintendo is in is own league.

Yeah. The Wii sales went in a slump long before even the rumors of a Slim and pricecut started to appear.

That's true, but a cheaper PS3 would deepen that slump especially in Japan where at its old price PS3 had already demonstrated it could give Wii a run for its money, so they had to cut the price.

^^^We waited and guess what Sony's back on top and Microsoft is back on the bottom.

Even with these "360 Slim + Natal + Halo Reach + Gears of War 3", the Japanese game community wouldn't pick 360 over PS3 and that fact will always keep the Playstation brand alive.

There have been 12 million + PSPs sold in Japan so far, PS3 will sell at least 10 million units in Japan and do much better worldwide than PSP when all is said and done.

TOP? Sorry..i can't take this post seriously and your sig is a little misleading

That isn't a link saying they are having a "Serious loss" on PS3.

That is a link saying they are having a loss, but still profiting.

you fail on so many levels, it is just hard to read this.

Nintendo cut the price, because demand slowed down after 3 (!!!) years at the same price. The price-cut was planned a long time ago, way before the PS3 slim happened. Nintendo is now again in perfect position for this holiday season.

PS3 did NO damage to the wii. Wii sales declined 3.28 % the week after sonys price-cut. That is so low, that easily fits in this error-margin. Do you really think Big N was worried about anything?

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

As expected...this thread is going therm-nuclear...so predictable...lol!

New user, long time reader.  I stopped reading after page 9 as i wanted to share this with anyone still reading.

What this chart is showing you is the sales of each console from their respective release dates, so this is a more true indication of how consoles are actually fairing.

No thats what Sony fanboys pull out whenever they get told they're still in last place.  It's been brought up for 3 years, there has been hundreds of threads dedicated to it and still it's spinning figures to make a given situation to appear different.  There is no truth in that chart, its just denial of the current situation which is what actually matters.  The only time that chart would have any bearing is if the price cuts, economy and a hundred other factors that influence sales had been the same across the timescale the chart covered, which they aren't.

Don't mean to blast you on your first post but a long time reader should really know better than posting that link imo.
