Your logic fails :P

You're more intereseted in the HD battle that has a 7.4 million gap because you think the HD consoles will win over Wii with their 3.5 million gap.

Seriously?

Anyway.. I'm not entirely interested in either any more.. It's not going to effect anything anyway, I want Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid, Zelda Wii and some more new original IP's from Nintendo on Wii and I know I'll get them. I also want quality first party efforts and all the major third party efforts on PS3 and I know that I'll get them.

Wii is still getting shafted by third parties and awesome Nintendo titles and PS3 are still getting major exclusives and all the third party games and sales from here on out aren't gonna change either of them.

Nope ever since the PS3 Slim came out that bascially put an end to the HD vs Wii battle, once the Wii levels off from the price cut then it'll definitely be HD beating Wii every week.

Now the X360 vs. PS3 is more interesting to me because the PS3 is over 7 million behind the X360 and yet I believe it'll be able to come back and surpass the X360.

I agree with you, however the way you worded the OP puzzled me and needed addressing.

I'd say HD vs Wii since that is probably the outcome that'll define and shape the next generation. I agree with kowenicki though; I don't want anyone to have a huge lead and get 60-70% marketshare ever again, Nintendo and Sony has shown us that a monopoly (or something very close to one) is a bad idea for consumers (Nintendo's infamous game pricing and Sony tons and tons of shit games for the PS2 along with shoddy build quality spring to mind).

I'm not interested in either really, but i agree with kowenicki, i just don't want one console to dominate ever again.

PS3 vs X360

I cannot accept a monopolistic, money-grabbing, dirty marketing scheming, creativity killing corporation going far in this industry.

Anything you can throw at Sony for their past misdeeds (and there's a lot to throw indeed), they are, for example, one of the few companies actually letting go of franchises in order to concentrate on new ones and renew gamer interest.

Disclaimer: This is my opinion, whether you like it or not. I won't be indulging in bitch slappings.

+1.

HD v Wii

I never again want one platform to dominate like PS2 did... its bad for the industry and the consumer.

The more i think about this the more i agree with you.

I'd say HD VS Wii is more important, because it'll ultimately shape the direction the industry heads in.

More relevant to me is PS3 vs 360 though, because I own a PS3 and a Wii, whatever games go 360 exclusive impacts my gaming.

But yeah, I care more about HD vs Wii.

I'm more interested in Wii vs HD, because that's the real deciding factor of 3rd party development. Arguments over 3rd party games in a 360 vs PS3 context always seem to be either A: debates between the short, short list of 3rd-party exclusives, B: complaints about timed exclusivity or C: those horribly pointless "let's examine these multiplat screens with a fine-toothed comb for platform differences!" excercises

I do think Nintendo has lost the initiative in beating the HD platforms for now, but let's just see what the first holiday that isn't supply constrained will bring us. If they can't narrow the gap now, i don't think they'll have even a chance to until the Vitality Sensor.

Sony Earnings : 78.88 Billion (USD)

Microsoft Earnings : 60.63 Billion (USD)

Both 2008 Estimates.

Which company are you talking  about? And I find it funny you saying this considering the monopoly the PS2 had over the previous generation. I'm not slapping you in the face; I'm just attempting to take your fanboy goggles off.

The PS3 vs. 360 battle is just busyness. Paying for exclusives, cutting the price, advertising, cutting the price again, paying for even more exclusives, finally stopping to bleed money, etc.

The Wii vs. HD battle is the paradigm shift, it is a battle between two ideals of gaming, and one of them will inevitably win, changing the face of gaming.

PS3 vs 360.

Besides, the HD battle it's the hardest battle. The Wii vs HD battle is already decided in HD's favor.
