it would be good on DS but not better
It would make the whole point of it (being local multiplayer) much less fulfilling. Except in Japan, i guess, where they go apeshit for that sort of thing.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
It'll be great on the Wii.
not everyone has multiple DSes...

So, does this game require multiple Wii remotes or can I use the Gamecube controller?

I agree with everything you say here except for the "not that great alone" part. Shure, the multiplayer is a selling feature for the game but that's because it's what sets it apart from the previous mario games, therefore that's what they focus on in the advertising and trailers. But mark my word, it's a Mario sidescroller, they would not allow it out the door if it wasn't also a fantastic game to play single player as well. |
I was originally dubious of this, but recent media has changed my mind.
From what I understand, the Super Guide won't even be accessible from multiplayer, so that tells you Nintendo is expecting a lot of people to play it alone. I still wish the multiplayer had online, but I no longer suspect that the single player will suffer due to a local multi focus.
Saying that NSMBW should be on DS is like saying that Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid have no place on PSP...

Soooo basically your saying you don't want a NSMB game on the Wii. Why what's wrong with that? What do you have against Wii. Last time I checked Wii is technically a better platform than DS hardware wise, so why shouldn't Miyamoto take advatage of it?
NINTENDO
nintendo forever . . .

What would make it better by being on the DS? At most, it could be the same... what would improve by choosing that platform instead?
Still, I thought they said this game wasn't capable without the wii's processing.
I htink the fact that it's going to be the first 2-D console-based Mario in years is part of what's making the hype for it. Then there's the fact that Miyamoto is going after that living-room local multiplayer experience. Plus there's that thing where you can twist the platforms using your wii-mote, I like the sound of that.

Microsoft doesn't have a handheld, and simulacrum is a fanboy for them. So for that user, it's okay to like the DS, but not the Wii.
That's why.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
