So u pretty much repeat last year lol.

But u have good taste.

LOL that's what I thought after I wrote it out

Next year I'll have far more interesting games to play though, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, Dead Rising, Dante's Inferno and Bioshock 2 just in the first few months!

What are you getting this year?

Assassin's Creed 2, Dragon Age, and possibly Forza 3, Risen and Left 4 Dead 2.

Damn, that's a short list now that I think about it. Where are all the games?

Sounds enough to getyou through christmas, take it you're getting risen for PC? 360 version doesn't look so good.

PC it is yes.

Ur PC sux rite?

nah, graphics card could do with updating, but other than that it can play most new games.

So y u get all the games on X360?

Apart from RTS, I don't like playing on a PC. 360 feels more natural for gaming imo

I guess it comes down to a matter of taste. Personally I'll take the 360 exclusives along with the multiplatform titles, because most of the time they are better ported than on the PS3 anyway.

I'm trying to think of the games this year that kept my attention

- Halo : ODST
- Halo Wars
- Halo 3 (still, but I guess ODST replaces it)
- Tales of Vesperia
- Eternal Sonata
- Resident Evil 4
- Shadow Complex
- GoW 2 (still)
- Call of Duty :MW
- Ghostbusters
- Batman: AA
- Left4dead
- Prototype
- Red faction
- Fallout 3 expansions

I feel like I am missing some. The point is that I had more than enough fun with the titles above to last me the year. Granted I am in my early-mid twenties and don't have nearly enough time to game, but I really don't see how you can be disappointed with that selection.

I think the exclusives were a little light this year, but honestly, if you buy an Xbox , you are pretty much signing up for most other titles on the market. I can live without Uncharted 2, or MGS4, or Heavy Rain. (Honestly , make me a Shadow of the Colossus sequel and I will be buying a PS3 the next day, but that's another thread entirely), or any of the other exclusives the other system is getting. But that's just my opinion.

Funny you should mention Shadow of the Colossus in that way, because one of the reasons I have a PS3 is simply because I wanted to have access to whatever Team ICO came up with next - that was a huge influence for me.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

@Fufinu,
so what? those are still only 4 games. and no, Ratchet is not an argument cause it's just few new levels and guns. it's like saying that ODST would be important(ie. game for fans of the series cause most of the people don't really give a damn).
4 action games don't mean good line-up - quality, quantity and variety means good line-up. personally i would consider it as the worst year for ps3 owners - if you're not into shooters and sandbox games you didn't have anything this year from ps3 exclusive except Demon Soul's. yes, i know people who have ps3, won't be picking up Uncharted 2 and didn't picked up Killzone 2 and Infamous either - even funnier is that the only game they will get this year will be Demon Soul's which they have to import cause it won't be released in europe.

This looks a lot like the JRPG argument a month or so ago. "This one doesn't count because of this, that one doesn't count because it is only in japan, that one doesn't count because it is similar to this. oh and that one also doesn't count because I don't think it should count."

A game is a game. L4D doesn't count because it is just new levels? Halo 3 ODST didn't count because it was just a new campaign and 1 new multiplayer mode and a disc with multiplayer stripped right off of Halo 3? Ninja Blade doesn't count because it is majority QTEs? Like in the RPG argument, Star Ocean doesn't count because it is going multiplatform?

What about MLB09 The Show? Does that not count because it is an update to MLB08?

I guess we should just stop playing games now.

@Highlighted

That can easily be flipped. If you own a 360 and like 3rd person action/adventure, platformers, RPG, Baseball then they won't have anything to play this year.   Also Infamous and Killzone 2 don't just vanish because it is October. New owners still have a sandbox title and a shooter. So let us see here -

Platformer, Shooter, Sandbox, RPG, Baseball, Action/Adventure. That is just exclusives. You also want to get into the stupdi quality over quantity argument? PS3 has 4 AAA games this year alone according to that stupid standard and you know what else? All 4 games are of different genres. How is that for quality and variety?

You are such a hater.

I think both consoles had a good lineup this year, but I personally feel that the PS3 had a much better year.

*Yeah I may have sounded like a PS3 fanboy, but he just needed to be schooled.*

Erm, Star Ocean, Magna Carta, and Dragon Age don't count as RPGs? Just because they aren't exclusives, doesn't mean the 360 doesn't get them.

To be honest, I have been disappointed too. Aside from buying about 4 old games, I have only bought 4 games for the system:
Halo Wars
Battlestations Pacific
Shadow Complex
Secret of Monkey Island

Of course, with the exception of BP, I have loved them all, but I was hoping for more exclusives from the system, and ME 2 just can't come quick enough. {I should note the 360 is my secondary console}

couldnt agree more, i love my xbox360 and will always do. It will be my main platform of choice, but Im liking the sony exclusives more and more. This year there were already 2 sony exclusives i really wanted to play (uncharted 2 and killzone) while MS had only Halo ODST (which was great imho, just not THAT great) in return.

I had the chance to buy a ps3 for 180 euros, so i bought 3 of them (new, 80gb versions), only to sell them for more, but its hard not to keep one. If i didnt desperately needed money for my wedding i would definately keep one.

All thats left for me this year is MW2 ( i dont like racers like forza or any other racer). Although thats a multiplat i wouldnt want to play that on any other system, since all my friends own xbox360's as well. But I feel a little bit underwhelmed, a feeling I have since january, when most of the xbots were hoping for big secret exclusive MS announcements on E3 or whatever. Natal seems great, but its not now and it feels like too little or at least too late.

I want games, big exclusive games. At least we get Mass effect 2 (best game too come imho) and Alan Wake and Halo Reach (im hoping that thats going to rock) next year. No new gears and no other announcements, maybe im getting a ps3 next year (after my wedding) to fill the gap.

op is deluded, if you care much about exclusives then move to pc gaming, cause there ain't that many for consoles.

Star Ocean: Till the end of time

Halo Wars

Red Faction

Batman AA

Riddick

Halo 3 ODST

Blazblue

Resident Evil 5

Street Fighter IV

Bionic Commando

Personally i liked this year but i most certainly am disappointed. No Mass Effect 2 until next year, No splinter cell until next year and Halo ODST was a huge let down. So for those reasons this year was a disappointment but next year will be the BEST year of gaming EVER!

Off topic i really enjoyed Halo wars if your ever want to get the Legendary Campaign achievements let me know. Im pretty good but the campaign wasnt my thing

Long Live SHIO!

i actually thought this year surpassed 08. that was the real year of bummers (haze and army of two specifically)

this year has really had a lot of heavy hitters. it kind of sucks that i don't have the time to play them all.

the ones i got that kicked ass:

killzone 2
ufc
batman
wolverine

the ones that i didn't get to play

red faction
infamous
prototype
ghostbusters
left 4 dead
transformers rof
operation flashpoint
saw
ninja gaiden sigma 2
