Forums - Nintendo - IGN Top 100 NES GAMES -- 100 - 81(Mega Man & Mario Bros LOW)!!

Go! Kirby's Adventure!

Around the Network

eh decently done so far i guess.

I hope Maniac Mansion and Wizards and Warriors are in the top 50 or so of the list!!

Let's see:

100: It's all about the fat players. Yep those fat pixeleated bastards were the key on this game, even today it's a really fun game. Why we don't have Mario Hockey Nintendo???

99: I played a little, mostly rentals. It was Ok for its time but today is quite boring.

98: Pure Nostalgia factor. The game was bad, and the water stage was terrible, but we were kids and love everything with the Ninja Turtles. (even that disgusting piece of cereal that they had)

97: This game is part of a small era in videogames when everybody thought that "Bigger Sprites= Better game" like Strider on the Genesis, but at the time there were abominations like China Warrior on the TG16, anyway Astyanax was good.

96: I haven't found it. And yes I know I can't get it on emulator, but it isn't the same.

95: Good but 3 and 2 are much better in my opinion.

94: Haven't played it.

93: Great game, one of the finest platofrm NES titles that you can find, the characters, music and gampley set this great (and quite hard to fine) title as one of the best games on the system. (I think this one should be on the Top 50 at least)

92: Haven't played it.

91: I never had the chance to play this on Arcades, so my first encounter with Mario Bros was on the NES and was quite fun but repetitive after  while.

90: Nice shooter game, but there was so many on the NES and much better.

89: A movie game ... that doesn't suck. Yes Capcom tried to make a Zelda-esque game and it was really good, the story, gameplay and even the music were nicely done.

88: Ah, the era when giant heads could be Videogame heroes. Yeah a shooter with a giant floating head even today the concept is quite bizarre but well executed.

87: I bought this game just for the cover, thinking it was a RPG ..... but no. It's a shooter, quite good but not the best in the system.

86: The first of Disney-Capcom game. I never undesrtand why Minnie followed Mickey and why he doesn't care when she dies; bad Mickey, BAD.

85: Haven'¡t palyed it.

84: Same as MM 4. Quite good but not the best.

83: Oh Billy and Jimmy, what happened with you?? Such a good franchise now forgotten and wasted.

82: Haven't played it

81: Oh boy I found this game too late. Actually I think it was only like 2 years ago when I heard the opinions about the music in this game, so I looked for it and found a great title. The action is fast, the music is superb and the story quite good for its time; I think it's a must have for every NES owner.

I can't believe TMNT made that list, it is complete trash. Even worse than the recent TMNT game that came out recently for the Wii.

You should try it out sometime, it may not seem very good right now but me and my friends would play the mini game all the time, where you press select I think it is at the main menu and you scate on a half pipe.

Funny, I have seen Dragon Warrior 3 rank highly on overall top 100 game lists. Yet the best and highest selling RPG on the NES only makes #96 on this top 100 NES games list? Something is wrong here...

The only RPG on NES that rivals Dragon Quest 3 is Dragon Quest 4. Final Fantasy 1 is somewhat of a distant third or fourth if you include FF3j.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

The Legend of Zelda will be number one.

Hoping Mother/Earthbound Zero gets on there. It's dated and grindy now, but was very good in its time. Plus, the soundtrack is frickin' awesome and not just the vocal one.

Be of good cheer!
