See this furry friend above? Well you could be seeing a lot more of him (or something like him) in the coming year's as Sony in-house developer London Studio have said that EyePet is the "beginning" of a franchise.

Speaking to VG247, EyePet lead developer Nic Noucet said "For us, it's the beginning,", "We're creating a franchise. We're hoping to really rally a lot of support and have a big success." then finishing with "The intention is to build something bigger than a single game."

The 'first' game in this upcoming franchise has received some pretty average reviews so far from the likes of Eurogamer. We're hoping to bring you a full review of the game soon.

The game is released on October 23 in the United Kingdom and the United States have to wait till 2010 to get their hands on the game which is bundled with the PlayStation Eye.

hmm......HIGH expectations.....who knows what "BIG success means" in their books!

A franchise begins.....but it will have to be successful for them to afford to make it into a franchise.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I keep thinking, can the buzz natal created a few months ago help this game?

"Kinect" Games I am really excited about (Click for videos)

Kinectimals        Dance Central      Kinect-Sports   Kinect-Adventures    Your Shape       Kinect-Forza

Owner of :   slim 1000 +  80GB DSlite

Good luck to them, marketed well it can sale.

Nothing works better for a sale then a whiny tamper tantrum throwing child.

The Gotaway lived up to it's name

It's going to be moderate success, nothing really substantial. The software/game is really nice and looks fun, but I think it would do much better with a realistic pet (dog, cat, parrot, hamster. etc).

They need to advertise this game, it is their key to unlock the door to some of the Wii's audience.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

I hope big success means 500K sold, cause that is all I see this game doing. I think it looks great and all and I will get it for my 2 nieces, but I just dont see to many getting this. Have they announced price yet, with and without the PS Eye?

They need a variety of peeeeeeeeetsssss. Why would anyone want the same pet in different clothing?

I hope this game can be successful with a few hundred thousand sold, because I don't really see this selling a million. I'll definitely buy it, as I love a good virtual pet game (Nintendogs sapped my free time for months), but I just don't see a ton of people wanting a little monkey-dog-thing, and handhelds are a bigger draw for virtual pets than consoles since they allow you to experience a 'pet' on the go.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

They have announced price with and without. If I'm not mistaken, it's below 70 for the bundle.
