Forums - Sony - Next Generation of Playstation

So, the ps3 being sold for as much as $600.00 was a mistake. Now think about this, Sony must have learned so much about pricing. Although I am happy that I own an original 60 gig ps3, I'd have to say that I am pleased to feel that when the ps4 is released there is no way it will end up being so expensive. In regards to the ps3 still being able to survive is amazing. Afterall, it won't be to long before the ps3 reaches 30 million consoles sold. To me, this has actually ended up being a success with much more potential to come. There is a chance that the ps3 could end up surpassing the 360 (doubtful), but not to long ago there were many threads suggesting that Sony should/will get out of the console war. Well, as things are going it looks that Sony will continue to be a major player in the console wars for years to come.

Most of the stuff used in the PS3 will probably be used in the PS4.

They don't need too much more of a graphical leap like from last gen to current gen.

Blu-ray will be in it's prime, and will be really cheap to use.

Etc.

^Wow. PS2 is coming back with blu-ray now? Awesome!

I tried reading your post several times and... well... it has no point... a few inept statements... but no point...

"Sony must have learned so much about pricing." --> PSP Go ?

"the ps3 still being able to survive is amazing" VS "to me, this has actually ended up being a success"  ROUND 1 - FIGHT !

The post does have a point! He did not mention anything to do with pspgo,so why bring it up. He was talking about Ps4, i agree with his post.Sony have learned from their mistake on the pricing of the PS3.The Ps4 should launch at 399€

I meant PS4 ¬_¬

PSP Go is a different story, 1. They're not selling it at a loss, DD is more profit, etc., it's good business because the device was not gonna sell like hotcakes anyway (retailers refusing to sell it, people don't liking mandatory DD, etc.), so they put the price that maximises profit for them...

I'll return later to talk about the PS4

In defence of the OP:

The PSP Go is 199.00 GBP. The DSi 149.99 GBP. Not quite the same as $600.00 vs whatever price the rest were. ..at least IMO.

After 3yrs I think we have long  passed round one. ...at least IMO.

Or a compromise, a $350 PS4!

Either way, we won't be seeing a $599.99 console ever again.

How about giving them out for free? Think of the userbase.
