ill give the game an 8.75.
Awesome graphics
Awesome protagonist
Annoying ending
Not the most innovative game ever

Rule:

3. scores have to be on a 10 point scale with 7 being average, and anything longer than 2 digits (EG: 9.8) won't be counted.

Gotta choose! 8.7 or 8.8!

fine i give it an 8.8! Great game a must buy for everyone that has a PS3

Long Live SHIO!

8/10

+ Great characters and voice work

+ Beautiful graphics

+ Fun platforming sequences

+ Funny at times

+ The zombies

- Too "Hollywood" in terms of story presentation and script

- Terrible, terrible gunplay

- Platforming and exploration marred by constant shooting

- Crappy antagonists

- Final boss fight

- Short, even for a game of this type (I beat the game in less than seven hours)

Pros

  • The 80's adventure -- Uncharted perfectly captures that classic 80's adventure movie feeling like Romancing the Stone or Raiders of the Lost Ark.
  • Jack of All Trades -- Uncharted does a lot but it isn't really a master of anything, and that's not a bad thing.  Uncharted borrows from quite a few games and while it doesn't do things perfectly or even as well in some cases, it still does a lot and it still does it well.
  • It's Pretty - Everything in that game was just beautiful

Cons

  • Replay Value - I know people will tell you that the game does have replay value but that isn't real replay value.  It adds nothing new to the game other than you die quicker.  The collectibles add a little but anyone that tries to tell you that this is anything more than an 8 hour experience is blowing smoke up your ass.  You might want the platinum but that doesn't mean everyone else does, especially with how stupid crushing difficulty is.
  • How Enemies are Introduced - It's stupid that you walk into a fight and enemies suddenly jump from hiding.  In the easier encounters this isn't a big deal but in the harder encounters where you have to start the encounter by letting the enemy fire at and hit you, it's stupid.  Hopefully this is fixed in Uncharted 2.
  • Endless enemies - Uncharted didn't really have endless enemies, but it sure felt like it.  You generally hunker down in a fight and enemies just keep flowing in.
  • Quicktime Events - Fuck QTE.  They're lazy and not fun and yet people still put them in games.  Stop fucking putting them in your goddamned game.
  • Stealth - I only used stealth for the trophy in one of the two spots it makes sense in the game which is a shame.  If I didn't have to start every encounter by triggering 10 people to jump out and shoot at me, stealth would be a fun element.
  • Melee - I got use to melee because I had to for the trophy but it just wasn't very good.
  • Platforming - In general the platforming was really good, but sometimes it just plain sucked.  Sometimes someplace that looked like you could jump you couldn't actually jump and you would just die.  Other times, you'd jump and fly off 20 feet and be fine.  This was just confusing and was a bit of a low point sometimes.
  • Length - 8 hours would be fine if Uncharted had some sort of replay value or multiplayer, but it was only 8 hours and $60 is a lot to ask for just that.
  • Crushing is Stupid - I don't mind a good challenge, but Crushing just wasn't fair.  I probably wouldn't mind it so much if you didn't have to trigger encounters like you had to but since you do, Crushing just wasn't fun.  Also, having to actually unlock so you have to end up playing through the same exact game three times is just retarded.
  • The Final Boss - The whole final boss was a perfect example of what not to do in a game and was a let down for such a good game.
  • Zombie things - Yeah, those nearly ruined the game for me.

Despite that long list of cons, I still loved the game and is easily my favorite game on my PS3 (even more so than Arkham Asylum).

It's a dead horse man, he's made it clear how he feels about the game, and trophies/achievements...

I'm with kung fu magic on this one. Replaying the game on a harder difficulty is NOT replay value.

The story was good, and exciting. Better then many of the 'dull' games out today.

I liked the ending. The story pretty much switched directions. It was so unexpected. It was also one of the few games I got the chills of this gen! I've only played through it once, but I can only hope Uncharted 2 has an ending similar to the style U1 had.

What else I liked about the ending is, there was room for a sequel. The sequel wont need to introduce a bunch of new characters, maybe just a few and it'll still be great.

9.2

Pros: Nice blend of gunplay and exploration, great story, fantastic dialogues and great graphic.

Cons: Zombie, method of killing the last boss suck (QTE), enemies take too many hit, loss of realism here.

Great game and the best cinematic game on the PS3 (I like the plot and story better than MGS4)

8.8

+ Excellent Presentation
+ Likeable Characters
+ Engaging story
+ Working Controls
+ Graphics. Wow. the Graphics

- Zero Originality
- Plot Twist was not good in my opinion
- Controls were not as good as the games it borrows from
- Slightly graphical hiccups in certain areas
- Very little incentive to replay the main story (trophies/achievements are not a good excuse if the main story isn't engaging enough, and with the bad plot twist and lack of alternative pathways etc, I don't feel the need to re-experience the game)
- Platform their way or platform the FAIL YOUR DEAD way... That really irks me when a game like Assassin's Creed comes along and allows you to basically improvise how you move through an entire city and Uncharted can't even do it for small segments of the game.

Great game 9/10 and my first ever PS3 game :)

Very good visuals (especially textures), mostly great animations, good presentation, great characters and humour, a little too short and lacking in variety.
