Dean takahashi is a journalist. He works for the 'San Jose Mercury News'
Hes only written two works which were both about Microsoft.
There is no link to verify that Sony ever did "plead" with anyone.

Quickdraw McGraw saied,
leo-j actually makes a valid point.
The way people spin articles out of proportion is quite amusing (Not directed at the TC, just in general).
==> COMPLETELY agree.
Time to Work !
I can believe it, seeing as it was this week that they announced new sku's and price cuts.
Coincidence? I think not.
Note: Before you point out that the 40GB models have been rumored, we also don't know if these sentiments have been ongoing for months, sparking productions of new models. It just so happens that everything is revealed this week.
"Plead" is probably the wrong word but that's not to say his story is inaccurate ...
Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft are all always in contact with third party publishers emphasizing their strenghts and minimizing their weakness' in order to secure development for thier platforms. Right now Nintendo's two main strengths are that they have a larger userbase and smaller development costs which are an impressive combination that is likely having an impact on publishers.
Realistically speaking Sony has no numbers which will justify producing a PS3 game rather than a Wii game and may now be resorting to "Pleading" with third party publishers ...
The problem with Sony might be that their wallet is not infinite, since their financial situation is worse than it has been in years...
I'm guessing that they had the choice of either taking a huge hit by continuing to sell the PS3 at a loss, or using the same money to secure lots of exclusive content. They chose the first, hoping that it will increase sales enough to give 3rd parties enough confidence to support the PS3 with games (in quantity and quality).
Now that they got the ball rolling, all they can do is wait and hope the plan will work. It's all in the hands of consumers now.

I Think I would have to agree with you :D

Doesnt Nintendo now offer extremely good developer support?
I know they were retarded about third parties in the SNES era but I thought that had passed?

They will plead with $$$$$
Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.
Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
