Shouldn't Scribblenauts qualify for this list?

Pfffft. That's a stupid toy for 6 year olds!

Mirror´s edge should be at number 2 and COD 4 is excellent, but NOT an innovating game. LBP at number one seems ok.

Mirror's edge is innovative how? For being a first person platformer?

its not innovative, but its very different from the tired out FPS genre.

No, I refuse to believe these are the greatest innovations this gen. Wasn't the cover system an innovation of this gen? If so, I think it beats all of those.

cover system was around before this gen, winback on the N64 had cover system

But how much has it evolved this gen? I mean, the innovations in this list are only upgrades to already existing systems.

@dtewi

Oh, how stupid of me. I should've known better.

this list is laughable. and LBP hardcore? common.

I would like to point out LBP's "innovation" in this list is something that RTS's and MODs on PC have been doing for years

For being a free run/parkour game, with a new sense of movement, speed and perspective and quite original graphics.

Hey, no mention of the active reload from Gears of War?

Gears was the first game to do it right? i can't think of another game that does.

the cover system has improved greatly from the N64 days, but it is not innovation, its refinement,  you could say that the cover system got its breakthrough this gen, before this gen it was unnoticed, this gen at least gets credit for popularizing the cover system.

Mirror's edge needs some touch up work, but there really is no other game like it. The first time you nail a run without dying is a highly rewarding experience. It was refreshing to play an action game that didn't revolve around head shots.

@ CGI

I'm glad to see Fable 2 on that list. I'm ashamed to admit I just picked up this game last week. The level of interactivity in the game is crazy. Defintiely a game anyone with a 360 needs to play.

I agree with most of this thread. (If were excluding nintendo). I absolutly love Mass Effect's conversation wheel. however my only gripe is that Forge mode in Halo 3 is just as original and good as LBP. But thats just my opinion! Great find CGI

Long Live SHIO!
