The question I'm interested in is how many units Sony needs to ship for it's development costs and marketing will have been covered.

If we'd say Sony makes a profit $100 on every new Go customer, and I'd say that figure is still a bit low, selling 80k units makes a 8 million $ profit so far.

More on topic I'd say not many people are interested in it.

Youre forgetting the game sales though. Now that the middle man is cut out more money goes to sony per game sold. over-all its a better business model for sony and now that those losses are in the past we wont see them in up coming reports.

I am not forgetting game sales, accessory sales, euro/dollar differences. I'm just using a really really low number :p

It's a flop but better than I fought. Is this first week or first day sales?

Much better than i expected.

Check out my game about moles ^

In the future PSP Go will be included in all those top 10 lists of 'worst console', 'worst business decision' and stuff.

It is not possible for it to be a flop if it is in line with Sony's expectations.

It has sold very well, when i compare it to the other DD only gaming devices priced that high.

...what? The PSP is a 50+ million seller system. Thats like saying the Ps3 20 gig or the 360 elite will be on those lists.

lol, i dont mean the PSP as a whole. But they'll include the PSP Go in those top 10 lists saying things like

'Does anyone remember the PSP Go? The final hardware revision by Sony that was supposed to renew (...) was discontinued after only... bla bla..."

It doesn't matter if the sales where in Sony's expectation, it's a HOT FLOP. Sony can want it to sell as much or as little as they want, but for the educated consumer/critic, it's a flop, it hasn't even topped 100k units in 2 COUNTRIES...get outta here, it's a hot flop, and we all know it.

More like 2 countries and 1 continent.

NA= U.S.A & Canada

EU= Europe (more than two countries)

Still, with the numbers reported for first week sales it is not that bad.  We will have to wait and see how it actually performs in the long run.

That's not too bad, let's see how it does in Japan before we conclude anything.
