Hardware

DSi – 57,000
PSP – 55,000
PS3- 37,000
Wii – 32,000
Xbox 360 – 2,600

_____

AS we can see the PS3 OUTSOLD THE Wii DESPITE its price drop

now the wii is the market leader in Japan

Putting these things together makes me very disappointed in Wii Price Drop sales.....next week will be interesting

What are your thoughts on this STUNNING turn of events?

MOST IMPORTANTLY....is this a SIGN of the coming holidays in Japan?

Are you disappointed?

There is of course still a chance other trackers have a difference order, certainly considering Famitsu had PS3 a lot higher than the others last week. But either way it is nice for Sony to sell on par with Wii (and possibly even slightly higher), especially when Wii had a price cut.

ps3 has some good titles in october to support it like trinity universe NGS2 Uncharted 2 Bayonetta The Last Rebellion Tekken 6 so i think that ps3 will continue outselling the Wii in japan until january 2010 just of the FF PHENOMENON WHICH HAS ALREADY 400,000 PRE-ORDERS

Source for that pre-order information, please?

Japan's strange... DSi > PSP even though PSP had a price cut , and PS3 > Wii after a price cut.

Just like i said. Not to gloat or anything

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

And the division continues. Truly sad.

I wonder if Nintendo will be able to converge the industry under its own consoles eventually. If not then, hopefully Microsoft will someday.

Well Sony beat Nintendo to the punch with the price cut so it stole Nintendo's thunder. I would think that the $50 price difference on the Wii isn't as big a deal as a $100 PS3 drop. I would also think that the market in Japan for Wii is starting to get saturated.

Not a surprise, after seeing the numbers PS3 put up last week.

The Wii did about as expected, I'd say. I don't think the PS3 can sustain sales as high as the Wii in the holidays, though. We'll have to wait and see.

Nice to see PS3 selling so well. And with the likes of Bayonetta, Winning Eleven 2010, Tekken and Final Fantasy XIII in the next few months, I can see it doing even better!

No FF13 and FF14 on Wii! Thats why! sorry nintendo but games for the holiday season cant match up those of PS3

Maybe japan loves much handhelds, but i don't think we can speak of saturation...really if DS was able to reach over 20 million i can't see why Wii is not able to reach 13-14 millions...

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)
