You guys rather wait a year with a few enhancements?

If you really want a game like TOV your willing to wait a year?
Of course you'll buy it on the PS3 if you didn't own a 360, but if you owned a 360 you were stupid to pass up TOV in the first place.

TLR is a half-decent game. I'm glad PS3 owners are getting the chance to play TOV.

There are so many good games these days, that yes, I'd rather wait an extra year for the good version.  I think a lot of gamers feel the same way.

Considering this is a long-standing trend with 360 "exclusives", that's definately a mark against buying 360 software at all, in my book, unless the PS3 version comes out at the same time, and is terrible by comparison.  Since that situation doesn't happen very often any more, the 360 beta-box is looking mighty lame these days.

MS should stop shoving money at dev studios, with the "push it out the door early, and stamp 'XBox 360 exclusive' on it.. for a while."  If they buy a dang exclusive, they need to pay full price, and get a decent game out of it.  I'm tired of the exclusive betas.  I won't fall for it again.

Yeah really, isn't an early access beta supposed to be free? I seem to remember most companies not charging for the demo before the game is released. And some of those beta games really do have almost as much content as the full game too. These 360 "timed exclusives" are not much different.

hm, I can't help but wish all the JRPGs that released on 360 that are now coming to ps3 to fail.

Really, what was the point of not making these games with a simultaneous release?

because MS payed these guys a lot for the timed exclusive rights. And regarding the Last Remnant, i really could care less. That game was one of the worst RPG's i have ever played and no amount of fixing and extra content is gonna change that. Besides we have a ton of other RPG's comming next year that are more than worth my time and money

Proof? You do realize that the only time a UE3 engine game has hit the PS3 first is when Sony secured exclusive rights to UT3 right. Developers seem to struggle with their first UE3 game particularly on PS3. There have a been few titles that were announced first for PS3 but released first on the 360. Stranglehold and Fatal Inertia are two examples.

Because problems with the UE3 delayed the PC version too?

That would be funny if the PC version wasn't announced over a year after the 360/PS3 version. The 360/PS3 version was announced on May 10th of 2007. The PC version was announced on July 14, 2008. Coincedently July 14, 2008 was the day SE announced the released date for the 360 version.

But a PC version (which is always the lead) doesn't receive a few month delay because the 360 version is finished. (Which we know isn't true, because the 360 version was an unfinished product)

On what a storm of boooo-shit man, BOO-SHYTE!

I bought this for my 360 sometime ago and shortly sent it back cause it was crap VS 360's other (Former-Exclusives) Such as ToV, SO4, EA, Etc... To be honest i really enjoyed IU and LO so i guess it was worth it for those 2 alone since there MS exclusive JRPG's and IP's. but...

I think it was Loves2Spooge or whatever his name was who doubted me that Magna Carta 2 will not come to PS3 in due time, and welly, welly frickin WELL, look what we have here! it may be crap but its STILL Uh' Comin'!!

I love the Xbox 360, really great gaming console, but since its pretty much confirmed that MS moneyhatted this title to, i officlly despise MS for less originallity and more money power, MS should have used all this MONEY to make there OWN BRAND NEW IP JRPG's as Exclusives, if they did THIS move, then they'd fuck sony up in the JRPG department, but nooo... they only did this ONCE with IU and i think LO...

My rant aside (Lol i rival you Euphoria14) MS Moneyhatting Namco, Tri-Ace, Mistwalker, Square Enix, whoever the fuck else in the end Actually infact gives the PlayStation 3 the rather GRAND Edge on this JRPG Chaos... for the simple fact PS3 will not only get Most of what the 360 had, but MORE since sony demands Extra content for not going multiplatform in the first place, which i now feel is JUST since they screwed them selves anyway (the devs) therefore such an action is only normal.

In conclusion, i personally don't reget getting my 360 in general since i enjoy the gears franchise, i feel HALO ODST is the best Halo game Since the Original back on PC/Xbox, and come on, who doesn't like Project "S"??

But.. as far as the JRPG's go, i do reget getting my 360, since in the end won't lie, that was the main purpose, overall Star Ocean: The Last Hope did the most backlash wave VS all others to me, i may not have laid down $350 like Eu did (Thank god lol sorry buddy.) but i did put down $200 or something like that for the Arcade Unit, which is for people only intersted in 360 exclusives, its the best deal out there IMO, even more so since its 100% upgradeable...

So with that all said and done, You Reap what You Sow... always...

There are plenty of third-party Japanese (and especially Korean) 360 exclusive games that haven't jumped ship to the PS3.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_exclusives

Go through that list and you'll notice plenty of true Japanese 360 exclusives. Many of them released in Japan only to boot (which you'd normally think of as an insane thing to do). So there's no guarantee that Magna Carta II will make the trip. If you look at how crappy the sales for Magna Carta II were compared to the 360 jrpgs in Japan, it's clear that Japan doesn't have much of an interest in this franchise. It costs money to make a port and it's definitely not cheap to port to the PS3. With demand for this game being poor in Japan they'll probably not even bother with the PS3 port. They've already lost enough money as is. If they port to the PS3, they're not gonna recover the costs of porting it and they'll end up losing even more money.

At the very least, wait half a year or so or until Magna Carta II gets a nice price cut (say you get it $30). By then if there is no PS3 announcement, 360 exclusivity is pretty much in the bag and you can go buy the game no worries. TLR was announced multi-plat right at the beginning but then the PS3 port got cancelled and then they started it up again. That's why it took them longer than usual to announce it for PS3 (about 10 months from the 360 release to be exact). But honestly anyone whose crying that TLR is getting ported after paying a bargain $20/$30 for the 360 version is overreacting. You might as well stop buying third-party exclusive games altogether (and it doesn't just go 360 -> PS3, it's sometimes the other way around. ie. 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 was upgraded from the PS3 version) if people are going to be that paranoid.

As for Microsoft, I agree that they should be criticized for being short-sighted. They just throw money at the Japan problem as a short-term band-aid instead of looking towards the future by focusing on fresh new IPs that they can own. There are plenty of experienced, talented small Japanese developers out there that they can purchase to ensure that their games stay exclusive. The fact that Microsoft doesn't actually own Mistwalker is abolutely mindblowing (Sakaguchi once said that he wouldn't rule out multi-platform development in the future. That must mean Mistwalker is independent even though MS gave Sakaguchi money to help start up the company). Absolutely mindblowing! Blue Dragon was behind only Star Ocean 4 in 360 japan sales and Lost Odyssey sold over 800,000 worldwide. It would be a HUMILIATION if MS allowed say Blue Dragon 2 or Lost Odyssey 2 (assuming it gets a sequel) on the PS3. Remmber, just because it says Microsoft Games Studios on the box doesn't mean Microsoft owns the actual IP. They own Infinite Undiscovery IP but not BD or LO IP. So they should buy Mistwalker as well as a number of smaller Japanese developers.

On a related note, there's still no PS3 NA announcement for ToV so this should be interesting. lol. (Remember, the PS2 release of ToS never got released outside Japan) If you know Japanese, it's not a problem to import obviously but it'll be amusing to see non-Japanese speaking Tales fanboys import a game in a language they don't understand just so they can play as some pirate loli girl and play around with a few extras.

Well said, you should become a regular poster, i agree with 90% of what you stated here the other 10 about Magna Carta not to much, because i feel by the time (if it has not gone PS3 yet mind you.) i buy it, it may very well be in the $5 to $20 area more rather then $30.

Other then that, i agree 100% with what you said, very well thought out and fair. good one on ta.

I think I should repharase the question asking: Would you guys buy the game a year later knowing It's coming out? Because the obvious answer is yes. But not everyone had a crystal ball to know Tales of Vesperia was coming out on the PS3.

Anyways thats a old product page I see nothing new of TLR's arrival. The game has been in limbo for quite some time to come to the PS3. Hopefully It's at $20 budget release.

It's just that simple.
