All right, all right.

The game was incomplete (because LucasArts forced the game out the door in fourteen freaking months), but what it did have was still much more rich than what KotOR did - KotOR's story was grat, but was somewhat hindered by a slavish holding to the Lucas style of storytelling. It was faithful to Star Wars - its only flaw perhaps being that it was too faithful.

The "best game of all time is OOT" comes from gamerankings, and when comparing games closely, gamerankings is the better and most often used choice, though admittedly, metacritic is a great site, but unfortunately, they round a little too much to make minute comparisons.

Either way, they're both great games, so why argue over it? :)

Oh wow I just saw your edit

You know Obsidian are the guys who made Planescape Torment, the first two Fallouts, half of BG2, NWN2, KotOR2... I mean Jesus Christ, they have Chris Avellone, who is easily the best writer in gaming today unless you want to make an argument for Tim Schafer.

You can say whatever you want about their technical capabilities but when it comes to storytelling they beat almost every other developer in existence to death.

Obsidian is good though, but their games list is FAR from the prestige of Bioware or Bethesda.

Obsidian second-string?! That is another evidence of how little you know of PC gaming. Even only taking into account the games made under the Obisidan name, NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer is hailed as having the best Writing since Planescape: Torment. Obsidian is the first pick of everyone to make a good RPG.
