Why is it congratulations?

A mod is the last thing I'd want to be

I think it's more of a "thank you."

Agree, I've been a mod in the past and it can be really ungrateful work.

I find it strange why there are so many Americans being mods, hardly a single European and only about 1 Asian and I see him online only about once a week, refering to Y-Koron :=/. Wouldn't it be a better idea to select world wide? A few from Asia, a few from the US and a few from Europe so there are mods online 24/7?

I think it would be best to pick people

-regardless of where they live

-regardless of their gaming preferences

-regardless of their skin color

and it would be best to pick based on

-ability to deal with people

-manner of speech

-intelligence

-high post count (or at least a frequent visitor to the site)

That's how I feel at least.

This website is visited by people from all over the world. And Europe is more than only United Kingdom, its also The Netherlands (me, Neo, StarcraftManiac, MikeB), Belgium (Konnichiwa), Greece (VonShigsy), Poland (Kber81, Wojtas) and I've seen many people from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Russia around here who're registered. To keep a forum safe and pleasant to visit, its important its guarded all the time.

But that's my opinion ;)

Only mods can edit thread titles and not members?

Will members be able to edit their own thread titles though like their posts?

But I'd like to see the stickying works. $150 that the first sticky is Ben with the Brawl Updates.

Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita

Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte

Sugu yoko de waratteita

Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo

I will never leave you

lol @ Soriku

I don't see either of our names in red, bud.

Ability for mods to edit thread titles is good, though. No more Damer's Conventions.

I'm happy with the mod choices and I feel we have plenty of mods now to take us forward as the site expands.

A moderators job is to be unbiased and make the right decisions. If a mod were to start banning based on personal preference he would have his position removed. Mods are appointed by the site to help in it's running.

By the end of today mod powers will include:

- Banning members
- Editing forum posts and thread titles
- Removing and approving game database games, removing screenshots etc
- Adding news stories
- Adding new polls
- Stickying threads

Are we going to be able to edit our own thread titles too?

I'm just poking at ya, Soriku. No hard feelings.

Wow, quite a lot of new mods... Thank you all for the work you are and will be doing!

But what Onna said is a good point I think, it wouldn't be bad to have a mod from europe that is also online during the (european) afternoon. Maybe RolStoppable would also be a good choice.

And on another note, who wants to take bets which of the new mods will be the first to benkenobi himself? (stof, I'm calling for you! )

Currently Playing: Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC), Dragon Quest IV (DS)

Last Game beaten: The Rub Rabbits(DS)

This site is such a joke. Mods here actually ban people for speaking out against their competence? Wow.

Here is your job as a mod: Keep threads on topic, get rid of racism and kiddy porn. Thats it.

Its so funny to see mods publicly warn people. Use private messages. That is, unless you really have to show everyone what a big powerful mod you are.

Your job isn't that important, so, you shouldn't feel as important as you obviously do.

I think what most people need to keep in mind is that almost everyone has a bias here. What people don't seem to realize is that typically someone who is biased isn't going to be able to see that other people who have the same biased even are biased. So all we get is a bunch of outcry from the Nintendo fanboys that ssj12 is biased or the Sony fanboys that rocketpig is biased or that everyone else is Nintendo biased or what have you. Suck it up and deal with it. If you see someone actually causing problems on the forums with their moderating behavior then you have the official avenues with which to deal with it. Complaining on the forums is not one of those.

Roffle.

It's not about bias, it's about how much of a troll they can be. If you just flamed a thread of people for poor reasons, you shouldn't be getting modded a few days later.

At least that's how I feel.

Instead of dealing with the problem streight up, they are making it even worse but these recent decisions. Its very counter productive to having people take vgc numbers seriously.  I wonder just what is th epoint of this site, who the hell is running thsi palce and makng these decisions.

Dealing with bias by adding more bias ? just because its bais from the other side of things does not make better.
