Yeah,I agree.I also agree with sc that all consoles are pretty low on diversity this generation.The DS & PSP are the most diverse right now.I hope with the sony motion wands & wii's 2010 line-up(The Grinder,Other M,No More Heroes 2,Red Steel 2,Mario Galaxy 2,probably Pikmin 3 & Zelda),the ps3 & wii will be more diverse by the end of this gen.I honestly don't expect the 360 to be much more diverse than it is but let's see what Natal does.

My thread for teaching VGC some Nigerian slangs

Seriously, I think both 360 and PS3 are lacking in games aimed at children while Wii is the other way around.

Tie = 0.5
Win = 1.0

Released games

JRPG = X360 win (SOIV, TOV, IU, TLR)
SRPG/ARPG = PS3 win (Valkyria Chronicle)
WRPG = X360 win (Mass Effect, Fallout DLC, Fable 2)
FPS = Tie (Killzone 2, Resistrance 1 and 2 vs Halo 3/ODST, L4D)
TPS = X360 win (Gears 1,2)
Racing = Tie (GT5P vs Forza 2)
Beat-'Em-Up = Tie
Fighting = X360 win (DOA4, 2 Naruto games)
Platformer = PS3 win (R & C: TOD, LBP)
Action Adventure = PS3 win (MGS4, Uncharted, Infamous, Yakuza 3)
Simulation = Tie
Sport = Tie

PS3 = 5.5
X360 = 6.5

Future games (announced games only)

JRPG = PS3 win (WKC 1 & 2, Aterlier, TOV and SOIV + new content)
SRPG/ARPG = PS3 win (FF Versus XIII, Demons Soul)
WRPG = X360 win (Mass Effect 2, Fable 3)
FPS = X360 win (Halo Reach, L4D2)
TPS = x360 win (Crackdown 2, Splinter Cell)
Racing = PS3 win (GT5, Mod Nation)
Beat-'Em-Up = PS3 win (Basara 3)
Fighting = Tie
Platformer = PS3 win (R & C: ACIT)
Action Adventure = PS3 win by longshot (Uncharted 2, Yakuza 4, Agent, GOW 1/2/3, L.A Noire, Heavy Rain)
Simulation = Tie
Sport = Tie

PS3= 7.5
X360 = 4.5

Conclusion
Right now X360 has more diversity than X360 but if you looks at future games PS3 definately triumph X360. Well MGS might announce more games for games in future. But right now PS3 has better lineup overall.

PS3 lacks WRPGs (even the WRPGs it gets are usually later than the 360 or inferior to the 360 version), even JRPGs (barely getting a few here and there, mostly 360 ports), and it lacks RTS games, and it also lacks flagship shooters.

PS3 has an identity crisis - if anything. PlayStation and the PS2 had loads of Japanese exclusives, but now that the Japanese devs have moved on to MS, Sony is stuck and can't appeal to the western audience. They have had some success in Europe though.

All consoles lack RPG's. The DS and PSP are dominating that arena. The ps3 having an identity crisis is an absurd statement. And the exclusive Japanese games are starting to trickle in now into the western market. The ps3 lacking a flagship shooter is also a silly statement. It has several high quality shooters, not one with Halo sales but i dont see the relevence of that. The ps3 not appealing to the western market is also a silly statement. The only barrier was price and that's been removed.

The 360 has a good equal amount of WRPGs and JRPGs - something the DS and PSP don't have. Mass Effect, Oblivion, Risen, Fable II, Tales of Vesperia, Final Fantasy XIII, Star Ocean 4, Eternal Sonata among others.

And Japanese major games are mostly on the 360 now too - Devil May Cry 4, Tekken 6, Final Fantasy XIII, and a lot more are now multiplat. PS3 is getting a few niche games here and there, but nothing mind blowing.

The PS3 has nothing to compare to Halo, Gears, Left 4 Dead, etc. etc. More people play Halo 2 online than Killzone 2. And the PS3 does not appeal to America, at all, in fact it's so far behind that it can't make a comeback. It's doing fine in Europe though (as all PS systems do).

I am not dissing the PS3, it just doesn't have enough diversity really. PS2 was the same.

Not the PS2.

That's hilarious! There isn't a single major (or even kinda big) 360 exclusive coming from Japan. I don't want go out and said no exclusives at all, because I'm sure there'll be some SHMUP port that'll never come to America.

PS3 does have a lack of exclusive fighting games. Both now and upcoming.

There are a lot of decent to good fighting games already on the market as multi plats. and more are upcoming

Street Fighter 4

Soul Calibur 4

King of Fighters 13

BlazeBlue

And soon Tekken 6

As for shooter other than COD as a distinctive Multi plat shooters all others lie as exclusive: GOW, Halo/ KZ. R2

Action Adventures there's no good ones I can seem to recall so hopefully U2 will lead the edge their

I don't want to ramble but I'm proud of Sony it took them three years and stock crash of 140-$30 to really get their head in the game

Now they need more focus on other market feilds too.
