The HD version was boring, walking around a empty space ship zapping bugs.

I think I read about 8-10 hours somewhere for one playthrough, don't quote me on this, though.
This game is in my wish list, maybe ill buy it tomorrow.

I've been playing for about 4 hours so far on normal (the easiest of the four settings). I think there's a fair bit left to go.
There's some superb levels that I'd love to talk about, but it would be a spoiler. Easily the best rails shooter I've played: story, graphics, interactive sections, areas where you are free to look around, ability to slow time, the lovely rivet gun, good collectables and extras. It's fab!
Yes.

Hah!
I finished the game in approx 6 hours. Some bosses are though
I agree with Rol, I don't understand why they made a railgun instead a TPS or FPS. They could have done this, the 'Wii hardware' excuse doesn't work anymore, and the game is indeeed beautiful.
I don't like the Wii zapper, coz, sometimes you have to shake the wiimote and it's a pain in the ass with the zapper.
I played DS a few weeks ago and I agree with that one being 'a walk in the park with only a few bugs' is right. The dismembrement is better in DS:E imho
There's two new guns available : the rivet gun (no ammo, very valuable), and a nice electric cutter. All the other guns are back, but the ripper is less effective cause you can't adjust the distance between you and the enemy, so you have to freeze a bug at the good distance and then cut it with the reaper.
The big step back from DS isthat you can't choose your 4 guns and that's not cool.
Great game. More story than the original, and expands on the comics and the movie. The digital comics you unlock are a nice feature for people who have never read them. The comics also give you more info on how the game has a religious theme. If you have played the original you'll see some rooms revisited here and how they got the way they did. The game ran me just over 5 hours, but i replayed through it on hard, vet, and impossible and the difficulty does actually get progressively harder. You'll need more ammo the harder things get.
The story of Dead Space is just so interesting to me. It has been a long time since a story of a game has caught my attention so much. Most game stories are boring no matter what console they are on. DSE really feels like you're semi-controlling a movie. watching the dialogue and controlling the action. I would have loved a TPS for the title, but them putting this kind of game on the Wii in the first place is a breathe of fresh air. It is interesting when you figure out just what the marker is and what it is there for.
Plus the best part is the nunchuk action at the very end of the game......it will shock you.
Great game, solid production value and a franchise that I personally hope comes back to Wii.
I wouldn't mind getting this game among other wii games but ps3 games take precedence, and there's always a ps3 game that I'd get before I'd consider buying a wii game. Shame that I don't give the wii more of a go. Hopefully when it comes down in price, I'll bite the bullet and buy it.
*sigh* if only I had more disposable cash I'd buy it this instance...
