And the title is pretty mis-leading.
What they're saying is that they don't expect this thing to sell on-par with the 3000 at all. It's clearly just there for SONY to get extra money out of the more willing and financially stable consumers. It also let's you know that the 3000 isn't going no where.

That logic is so twisted that it actually turns out to be straight. For some reason, I think they make sense. Don't have enough money to buy the target? settle for #2 instead. Win win for sony

That makes sense; they said many times that they will continue to support the normal PSP. and the PSP Go will be the premium version. As long as Sony did not spend too much money on R&D for the Go and its accessories, this is a good strategy.

its funny how the only people who are complaining are the ones who are fans of it.

i knew they were planning for this, until later drop the price, they want to attract the "look its expensive im cool" buyers and the Iphone fans, but at the same time they want to remove the rumors of a new psp , and just make people who were waiting for psp2 go buy it,they also want to get rid of pirates.

so with all these reasons mentioned above they will release it expensive at first and then cut the price later.

Sony never said any such thing... a retailer did.

The misquote thread titles lately are really getting lame. Making such a thread should be a borderline bannable offense, IMO -- like a "three strikes you're out" kinda thing.
