PS3 Ads Still Not Learning: Nazi Blood Infusion Madness

Sony have a chequered past when it comes to advertising their consoles. Some ads have been memorable, others, highly controversial. And while they're now just mostly memorable in the US and Europe, in Chile, they're...using Nazis.

These two award-winning print ads, put together by Chilean agency BBDO, depict a Regular Joe - presumably someone who has bought, or is about to buy a PS3 - on a hospital bed. In one, he's giving a heart transplant to Joan of Arc. A flame-resistant suit may have been a better option, but then, it's not as touching.

But in the other? The same Regular Joe is in a Nazi hospital (complete with swastika bed heads) giving a blood transfusion to the Desert Fox himself, Feldmarschall Erwin Rommel. Who, despite escaping the war with his reputation (if not his life) in tact, was at the end of the day still a Nazi general. So...if you buy a PS3, you can...save Rommel, and...win the war for the Nazis?

And it's not even the fact it pictures Nazi's that I call this terrible, it goes back to the whole what the Hell does this have to do with the PS3 thing?

Not only does the person who thought who made and thought these were a good idea need to be shot, the person who approved it along with all his yes men need to be shot.

lol love it!

The pictures are really pretty though...

Hey even Nazis need blood >:(

OT: Bad advertisement is bad. I don't even know what the pictures have to do with the PS3....
Is it because the PS3 only does everything so he doesn't need a heart or blood ???

What the fuck? I never understand what they're driving at in their ads.

Pretty stylish, though.

Yeah this makes no sense=P

It brings attention to the PS3, thats all, You walk pass it you go "WTF?"..... stop check it out , then notice the PS3 logo on the right corner, then you go home and do your own research, simple as that.

These advertisements might make you stop and observe it more closely but when your done looking then your still nothing wiser about the PS3. Unless you didn't know the ''PS2'' had got a successor then these commercials don't really do anything. Maybe some more brand awareness but I think people are aware of the PS3. But now that they lowered the price they should make them aware of the new 'low' price.

It only does everything.. even aid the Nazis.

Pixel Art can be fun.
