What I would like is some sort of points/rewards system for uploading boxart, screenshots, information, and reviews of games in the game database. Sorry I haven't really thought out the details of that much, but it would be great to offer some sort of incentive to encourage more updating of the Game Database.

The age math doesnt work in profiles. I entered 4/30/85, and it tells me I'm 20 years old.

I saw a lot of ads of a Japanese restaurant with his name konnichiwa :s;

Hey ioi, sorry I should have been more specific...

What I was suggesting was a way of tracking market share of hardware sales over time.. for example there could be a link on the front page that take you to a chart that shows the market share of the Wii, X360, and PS3 over time (also one for handhelds) This way we can better see what consoles are gaining/losing ground in certain area's (american, japan, others, WW).

The new mod MontanaHachet...is doing that part of the site....

This site is supposed to be all about sales data, right? Before you do anything that is "extra", I would prefer that you add a lot more functionality to the "compare consoles" function. I'd like to be able to do a few things for example:

-Compare two consoles over a specified period of time -- say Oct 1 - Dec 31, 2006 for the 360 and the PS3. (yes, I know the ps3 wasn't out until november).
-I'd like to see it in both graph format and numerical table format...
-I'd like to be able to get table data for weekly and monthly inquiries... for example: how well did each console do in a region on a monthly basis, compare them to each other, etc., see it in graph format and see it in table format.

Why all the computations? To facilitate sales discussions as i suspect Ioi intended when the board was first started.

Imagine being able to search any console for any specified time interval (minimum weekly interval, obviously) and get the output both in graph format (with a link to the newly created chart to embed elsewhere) as well as in table format with the same type of linking system for embedding elsewhere.... Sales "discussions" (AKA arguments) would be a lot clearer when the data is so handily available to make a point...

I suspect VGC data would pop up in discussions all over the internet...  That would probably lead to more traffic than anything else mentioned in this thread.

Oh yeah, and an Ignore button!

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

I think we should have proper reviews for nexgen games, and be posted on gamerankings.

Its possible, with so many members on this site now, not everyone likes what the other person likes. So if a person played a sub-par game and everyone wanted to hear what the review was, well there you have it the review from a VGChartz member, not some other source in the internet field.
