I agree completely with the OP's sales prediction.

It is much more realistic to believe DQX will do 4.9million if you look at the success of both DQVIII and DQIX than it is for FF XIII when in comparison to the best selling Final Fantasys; Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy X. Only Final Fantasy VII has gotten close to his prediction, and the other two are off by 2 million. The other two are also later releases in the declining series. The predecessor of FFXIII, FFXII has sold almost half of what Darth is predicting. So yeah.. Which do you think is more likely?
That might happen but the Famitsu predictions were a lot lower and I heard they're usually rather accurate...

Final Fantasy 13 is multiplat. PS3 and Xbox 360. Xbox 360 is owned by Microsoft. Microsoft = $$$ in advertising = massive sales for whatever they decide to advertise.
That is all.
And a fix for you, Final Fantasy 7 is over 10 million if you include PSN and International.

Don't you think DQX's sales will suffer a little bit for not being on the same console that DQIX was released on?
Quem disse que a boca é tua?
Qual é, Dadinho...?
Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!
Also, for the series has been in a decline argument. Here are total sales since FF7 in Japan
FF7 - 3.93 million
FF8 - 3.64 million
FF9 - 2.8 million
FF10 - 3.29 million (inc. International)
FF10-2 - 2.7 million (inc. Last Mission)
FF11 - Outlier for Japanese sales because MMO
FF12 - 2.42 million
A little bit of a downard trend, but first week sales of usually been 1.8-2 million except for FF8 which was much higher.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Please go on. Isn't that the case with every Dragon Quest since the snes days and for FFXIII?
Note* I believe that the next Nintendo handheld will be out by the time of Dragon Quest X's release.

I know but FF12 wasn't like also it launched almost in the MONTH PS3 launched (in every region where it launched.....be it japan or NA)
Even I didn't get FF12 till much later on....nex-gen hype overshadowed it & FF13 was revealed before it even came out!
FF12 & FF9.....both had those same things going against em & sold in the 5 million range

Yeah, but that was on the PS1 and PS2 not the PS3, PS3 is likely to see a continued decline for the franchise

Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
