Have you actually looked at how bland the graphics are other than the cars? ITS HORRIBLE. Everything about Crysis is gorgeous. Shoi is here basically raping all of you in this topic, yet you console fanbois are to blind to realize it, mainly because you are jealous you don't have a proper built pc. My 8800GTX still outplays my PS3, and I can notice it everyday I turn on a game. I'll stick to L4D 1080p on my 50" plasma loaded from my PC anyday over the shitty ass port that was brought to 360. |
Shoi isn't "raping" anyone. Most people that know anything about gaming over the last couple of decades know that the PC kills the consoles in the graphics department. Crysis is a gorgeous game and outshines anything on the consoles, even for being a game that came out in 2007. That still doesn't mean that PC gaming is the best way to go for everyone who games. Graphically, the consoles don't give you the same experience as the PC, but they give you experiences that the PC doesn't give you as well.
I was a die hard PC gamer until about 2 years ago (hmmm, right around the time my son was born). I RELUCTANTLY switched over to consoles because I just didn't have as much cash laying around anymore to keep upgrading my computer, and in the end, it really didn't turn out to be that big of a deal. I have a blast gaming on either platform--the difference is that my friends all have consoles, and I'm the only one in the group who has a gaming PC.
I know the next comment below this one will be a lecture on how if I knew what I was doing when I built my PC I would never have to upgrade it and blah blah blah. Well that, my friends, is 100% BS. If you want to continue playing the most current titles at the highest res with the highest settings, you will have to upgrade your PC about every two years in some way shape or form. And if you're NOT interested in playing PC games that way, then that negates the whole point about the graphics being better anyway. You'll end up compromising the quality level of the graphics, and at that point, you may as well just get a console and be able to play games with your friends who actually have the same machines. For me personally, I didn't see the point of PC gaming anymore if I was not going to be able to afford keeping my rig up to date.
Does my Intel Q6600, 8800GTS toting gaming rig still handle games just fine? Yes. Do I still game on it? Yes. Is it my primary platform anymore? Sorry to say, but no.
