I can't believe you ppl are trying to compare Crysis to GT5... GT5 has barely ANY rendering to do besides the cars.. Have you actually looked at how bland the graphics are other than the cars? ITS HORRIBLE. Everything about Crysis is gorgeous.

Shoi is here basically raping all of you in this topic, yet you console fanbois are to blind to realize it, mainly because you are jealous you don't have a proper built pc. My 8800GTX still outplays my PS3, and I can notice it everyday I turn on a game.

I'll stick to L4D 1080p on my 50" plasma loaded from my PC anyday over the shitty ass port that was brought to 360.

I think your mistaking practicality for jealousy.  My main computer for instance (the one im typing on now) is a quad core with a 4890 that I primairly use for rendering I just got tired of DRM and installing crap and patching crap and my TV is better suited for the ps3 and 360 with a bunch of controllers than inviting a bunch of geeks over to huddle around my keyboard.  Honestly if I took my tower and brought it into the living room, my wife would declare me a lost cause and divorce my ass for lameness, we have a media center pc in there and she already thinks thats a bit over the geek line.  Crysis is actually the game that put the nail in PC gamings coffin for me, I was hyped..upgraded for it and found it to be nothing but eye candy as a game I can think of at least a dozen fps that are better story and gameplay wise.  I just dont get why pc gamers find it so hard to accept that others just dont care about pc gaming anymore...even more confounding is why when they are convinced they are superior, they still choose to go slumming on console sites to evangelize about why they think console gaming sucks, no one is going to change their mind, you will probably find most older console gamers are former PC gamers who just got tired of it and like the convenience of consoles even if the graphics "suck".

@grapeape:  EXACTLY

I used to be one of those people that constantly "evangelized" about PC gaming.  And I had the same experience with Crysis that you did.  I built a computer specifically for that game and was very disappointed by the outcome of the whole situation.  Crysis was not the PC gaming savior that it was being touted as for 2 years.  It turned out to be so so, but story wise it didn't hold a candle to the likes of Half Life 2 or Bioshock.  It really played more like a souped up FarCry, which I actually liked better than Crysis.  And then I started really opening my eyes and realizing that I wasn't really getting a unique gaming experience on the PC anymore unless I was going to play lots of RTS or MMOs (both of which genres I can't stand.)

Our son was born shortly after that and I couldn't justify the upgrades or time consuming troubleshooting anymore.  (Again, I don't care what anyone says, PC gaming is a more expensive and time intensive hobby than console gaming.  Show me a PC gamer who claims to be still using their 3 year old video card and 5 year old processor to play the latest games at the highest settings and highest resolution, and I'll show you someone who's bullshitting you.)  I RELUCTANTLY bought a 360 and was very surprised at how much fun I had with it.  Especially because I could now play games with my friends online or at my house without having to crowd around my desk and look at a monitor.  And it was a big weight off my shoulders to stop worrying about how I was going to pay for my next upgrade all the time.  I even eventually bought a PS3 Slim when they came out and now I'm a dual console owner!

My point is that if PC gamers actually TRIED consoles, they would realize it's not a whole lot different.  Play Gears of War 2, Little Big Planet, Killzone 2 or any of the other graphical powerhouses on an HDTV and you will wonder why you were so snobby about it for so long.  You can have loads of fun on consoles.  As a life long PC gamer I was pretty blown away by some of the titles I've played on the consoles in the last couple of years.

I agree about Crysis, it was horrible and made me sad. Crysis + UT3 made me start pirating before buying.

Howver I have tried consoles and still due thanks to my roommates and I have absolutely no problems with graphics or anything else. I have bee always about gameplay first and foremost, and consoles lack that heavily.
