@grapeape: EXACTLY I used to be one of those people that constantly "evangelized" about PC gaming. And I had the same experience with Crysis that you did. I built a computer specifically for that game and was very disappointed by the outcome of the whole situation. Crysis was not the PC gaming savior that it was being touted as for 2 years. It turned out to be so so, but story wise it didn't hold a candle to the likes of Half Life 2 or Bioshock. It really played more like a souped up FarCry, which I actually liked better than Crysis. And then I started really opening my eyes and realizing that I wasn't really getting a unique gaming experience on the PC anymore unless I was going to play lots of RTS or MMOs (both of which genres I can't stand.) Our son was born shortly after that and I couldn't justify the upgrades or time consuming troubleshooting anymore. (Again, I don't care what anyone says, PC gaming is a more expensive and time intensive hobby than console gaming. Show me a PC gamer who claims to be still using their 3 year old video card and 5 year old processor to play the latest games at the highest settings and highest resolution, and I'll show you someone who's bullshitting you.) I RELUCTANTLY bought a 360 and was very surprised at how much fun I had with it. Especially because I could now play games with my friends online or at my house without having to crowd around my desk and look at a monitor. And it was a big weight off my shoulders to stop worrying about how I was going to pay for my next upgrade all the time. I even eventually bought a PS3 Slim when they came out and now I'm a dual console owner! My point is that if PC gamers actually TRIED consoles, they would realize it's not a whole lot different. Play Gears of War 2, Little Big Planet, Killzone 2 or any of the other graphical powerhouses on an HDTV and you will wonder why you were so snobby about it for so long. You can have loads of fun on consoles. As a life long PC gamer I was pretty blown away by some of the titles I've played on the consoles in the last couple of years.

I agree about Crysis, it was horrible and made me sad. Crysis + UT3 made me start pirating before buying.
Howver I have tried consoles and still due thanks to my roommates and I have absolutely no problems with graphics or anything else. I have bee always about gameplay first and foremost, and consoles lack that heavily.
