I don't want to start a stupid war so i'll let it go. I really enjoy the GT series anyways. It's PD that has me irked.

What I don't see in any videos are dents and broken glass....
Perhaps Polyphony should give Rockstar a call... I think they handled damage pretty well in GTA4...
4 ≈ One
This explains the delay of the game. Its good that they are putting damage on all the cars. Some people were complaining about it in my school and said they will get Forza 3 instead. Bad choice.

My soul died a bit after seeing that ferrari with so many scratches and dents to it's frontal bumper :| I guess this confirms that they are indeed working in a good damage physics engine? =D

Well if they work on good damage physics engine then maybe it makes the game even more real or something. All I know is the game is going to be awesome.

Grand Prix Legends didn't show bodywork damage, but it modeled quite well suspensions and steering damages, and, to a certain degree, engine damages too, that were simplified to loss of power, breaking and fire.
Nice to know GT5 will offer a damage modeling as accurate as possible.
If PD does a damage engine as similar as GPL or even GP2 (Geoff Crammond was a genius when it came to the whole F1 simulation world) then that would make me excedenly happy, that was one of the best damage simulation ever present in a video game.
You could actually feel all the hampers on your performance with such minute things like hitting the gravel and distorting your roll-bars, a small wheel-to-wheel bump would actually give you a huge perfomance impact to your suspension and brakes, and so many other things

TBH. I think visual damage will be limited to scratches and stuff on normal cars. On race cars and WRC cars there will be more intense damages like the Subaru (which still isn't what I expected).
As long as the mechanical damage is in. I'm good with it.
| dcIKeeL said: @deviation I mean like bush league etc. I understand trying to make the best game you could. However, PD deciding to delay the game because their damage wasn't up to snuff wouldn't have happened if forza didn't exist imo. It's more like they said: "this games damage is better, looks like we'll have to push it back to make our damage better". |
PD delayed the game? Explain more please.
