I think this will be about 91% correct since ioi predicitons seem to be correct most of the time,  I do agree that NSMBWii has helped wii a lot, introducing some DS owners to Wii.

Famitsu just posted some pretty big Wii numbers for this week... ~140k, to PS3's ~75k.

Looks like Wii could be pulling ahead over the rest of the month.

Still, will be interesting to see what happens when the Holidays are over, and it's back to the SW boosts

that would be over 2007 level and an increase of 80%. I would expect it to increase 50% to be around 210K and lower than 2007 level. It would be interesting to see how PS3 does with FFXIII. I wonder if Japan has ever had two consoles selling 200K+ in the same week before.



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

It would be crazy if Wii outsells PS3 this week - even Wii being close to PS3 during it's biggest release ever would be most impressive.

FF is going to sell 1.2-3 million for the first week and drop off fast? How is that a 'check'? That seems like a random guess.

Well, it was more of a 'check' when the first week shipments were said to be around that level.

even then I wouldn't write off the games sales as being so low just because it's a low shipment number. FF games are frontloaded as we all know but they also ship a lot at launch. I wouldn't expect FFXIII to die as fast if the first shipment was only 1.3 million.
