In two Thursdays we'll know how much is full steam for Wii in Japan in this period, but unless it's so exceptional to exclude a PS3 recovery, we'll have to wait for FFXIII to try to extrapolate a trend for this particular race.

Next week will see Wii gain some pretty good numbers, and probably will hold up for the rest of the year.
PS3 needs to start getting some decent boosts now before FF13, then hope it can be enough.
Alright I think Nintendo's Wii will reach the 10-mill mark first. This fall has New Super Mario Bros and a price cut while next year has an amazing line-up of software. Nintendo is going to make a killing. That being said I think it will be close as PS3's popularity in Japan is growing stronger and stronger.

i think we can see a PSP vs DS transfered on the consoles market, its pretty obvious each console is having its own appeal its pretty neat
Wii – 46,673
PS3 – 46,558
Media Create numbers. Looks pretty close but this is the first Wii victory in Media Create since the slim launch.
I think ps3 should definitely get this one. Mario will give the Wii a boost next week, but not near as much of a boost as ps3 will get with FFXIII. Various other Mario games are already out on the wii meaning a lot of the "Mario" fans have already bought a Wii. FFXIII is the first TRUE traditional jrpg for the PS3 other than WKC which was a new IP and Tales of Vesperia which was a port. FFXIII is going to sell a lot of consoles and keep the ps3 the "hot" item for some weeks. Star Ocean 4 also comes out for the ps3 early on in 2010, but I think the ps3 will reach 5 million well before then.

I originally said the Wii would win this, but I'm starting to think the PS3 will get this.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

FF13 will make the ps3 win this battle. Maybe not win, but hit the milestone first.

PS3 with no new releases sold same as Wii, which has NSMB next week.
Very good.
PS3 stays above 30k most of the time since pricecut in September.
Overall, Go Go PS3! It won`t give up easy.
This update will get you RIPPED in four weeks.
Please check newbie's thread for week-to-week tracking of the ioi vs. ZorroX projection contest:

Notes:
1) Last week's numbers for both consoles have had very small upwards adjustments.
2) This is the "new" first week that Wii has outsold PS3 since the start of the race (and also the first time since the Slim launch). This time it should stick.
3) PS3's lead is almost exactly 100,000 more than the lead predicted by ioi (39k) in his Oct 21 revised projections through this week.
4) PS3's lead going into NSMBW week is comparable to the peak weeks of Wii sales during holiday 2008 (141,141; 148,627; and 130,613). This means that PS3 should still be leading after next week (ioi predicts Wii outselling PS3 by 110,000 next week) but obviously with a somewhat reduced margin.
